Spent last week working on our shooting shed. Repurposed 2 pieces of concrete pad to make level/solid area for a shooting table or skeet stand. Still need to build/buy a good shooting table (really would like to find something decent that I could break down or fold up) and build a skeet stand. I also need to figure out some type of solar/battery/inverter to run a couple of lights, a fan or 2 and the battery tenders for skeet throwers. Probably will outline the perimeter of the crushed rock with some basketball size boulders. [Linked Image]

Appreciate it. Wife likes to shoot clays, therefore I get to indulge.

I like everything about it, especially the doors for a breeze. up

I just made this bench if you want the cut list. It's rock solid.

Cut list for the bench I built.

Shooting Bench Plans

All frame and top pieces are 2x6" material.
Legs are 8x8", you can use smaller.

Top frame:
Qty 2 @ 43"
Qty 2 @ 25"
Qty 1 @ 40" center support left to right
Qty 2 @ approx. 12" front to back support (used for nailing top).

Top:
Qty 5 @ 45"
Qty 1 @ 1"
Qty 4 @ 13" (for Top center section).
Allow 1/16" to 1/8" spacing between pieces for expansion.

Top center section frame:
Qty 2 @ 20" (sides)
Qty 1 @ 11" (end)

Legs:
Qty 3 @ 35" add under side framing to support leg on all sides.
Qty 1 Rear leg brace approx 14" with 45 degree cut on both ends.
Qty 1 front Legs horizontal support 36"

Needed Hardware:
12 4" lag bolts and washers
Qty 2 boxes of 2 1/2" x 10 deck screws
Qty 7 2x6"x8'

Instructions:
Build top frame on level surface.
Add legs, bracing as needed while still working on level surface.
Add front leg support.
Add rear leg support, do this before top is installed.
Turn bench up right adding the bench top pieces ensuring 1/16" to 1/8" gap between boards.

Notes:
I predrilled all screw and bolt holes to eliminate wood splitting.
I used deck stain on all ends & edges to protect from wood rot.
Bench height supports a 19" chair/stool for an average sized person.
Top has 1" overhang on all sides.

Happy Shooting!

Love that shooting shed!

Please tell us about the Clay Bird throwers.

I am currently looking at different ones myself.

Have pretty much settled on the Champion Freedombird to start with. But honestly don't know too much about the automatic throwers.

CSD, great looking shed!! We have the same thing for throwers. that looks to be the same set-up I have. Is that a 250 clay tub?

I honestly dont remember how many the 2 bigger throwers hold (think around 150 though). 1 is wobble base and the other 2 are fixed.

Sorry flintknapper, apparently I can't read and missed your question.

1 machine is a MEC 100e with wobble base and wireless remote. bought it new from midway. It will wobble/tilt up,down, left and right. or you can turn that off and it throws from "fixed" position.

other 2 machines are Atlas with fixed bases and wireless remote. I bought them from someone on TFF or here. they work great.

I know nothing about Champion Freedombird throwers but I would not hesitate to buy either the MEC or the Atlas.
