My two youngest vizslas can’t get along anymore, and quite a few stitches later it’s clear we have to rehome one of them. So I’m offering the younger, smarter, bolder one here to the right person. He has an incredible hunting drive but no specific hunting training. He’s also a mostly inside dog who lives to snuggle, and has lived his short life as a pet. He's literally the sweetest dog I've ever met. The downside is that he’s the aggressor, though he’s only shown aggression with one of our two other vizslas. He's never been aggressive toward any other dogs or any humans. He’s always been great with people, even with kids (even with young, energetic, all up in his face kids), but I would feel better about him going to a home with older children or no children. He would probably be best placed in a house with no other dogs, but he’d likely be fine with females or neutered males.

He is a purebred viszla from Red Canyon Kennels in Oklahoma. We have all of the registration and pedigree documentation for him to be AKC registered but have not sent it in (we aren't breeding him, so it didn't really matter to us).

We’re heartbroken to have to give him up, but we’re out of choices. I'm happy to give him away for the right situation. If anyone is interested, give me a call or text at five one two three six zero zero 22 zero.

If you’re wanting a trained bird dog that lives inside with you, snuggles on the couch, and gives ALL THE LOVE, consider this guy. We’re thinking about sending him to Big Country Kennels in Albany for a 10 week bird training course to give him some extra skills to help him find the right home, and are willing to make this part of the package. To be clear, he’s not bird trained yet, but of my 3 vizslas he’s the smartest, most athletic, most trainable, and most loving. He’s currently intact, but we’ll most likely get him neutered soon unless we can find a home for him while he’s whole.

Text or call anytime. Please leave a voicemail if I don’t answer. I WILL call you back.

I can text pictures on request.

Hey y'all,

This guy is still in need of a great home. If you've always wanted a vizsla, or if you know someone who does, please give me a call or text. 512- three six zero - 0 two two zero.

Even if you can't take him, please spread the word. He's a phenomenal dog.

Folks,

I spoke with a handful of professional trainers, and they've convinced me that rehoming should not be necessary. It'll take a lot of training and more $$ than I want to spend, but I think that would be less disruptive to our lives and the dogs' lives than rehoming. We're going to give it a go.

Apologies to any who got their hopes up, and thanks to all who contacted me.
