Do you have any? I`ve lived in Erath County my entire life. Grew up hearing the tale of McDowells Hole many times growing up from my grandmother who had a book about it. People would even go there at nighttime and try to see or hear something or someone. The one thing I didn`t know was where the location actually was. In 1991, I leased a place to deer hunt that had the Greens Creek running thru it. We (me, my son, cousin and good friend) camped about 100 yards from the creek the first 2 weekends of deer season that year and had a great time. It wasn`t until a few years later that I realized it was McDowells Hole I had leased from a local newspaper article, and we spent 2 weekends camped out there. I actually had to walk across the creek in the dark to get to my blind every morning and I never saw the ghost. For the record, we never heard or saw anything strange that season. I probably would not have camped there if I knew it was McDowells Hole though. I`m just that way. We saw very few deer that season and let the place go.

ghost/spirits are real

was non believer til it happened to me

I hunted a place in Eastland that had scared several of my friends
(marine, navy, airforce, army, coast guard chief ..... )

I would hear foot steps walking up to me while I am hunting hogs
with thermal at night... would stop next to my tripod, I'll look down and nothing

cameras would run out of battery with only 1 or 2 pics of white hair fluttering and that's it

... happens all the time on that canyon

I have dealt with strange events, but I have never seen anything.

Have had a few experiences. Only one was on a ranch where we had verified sightings/experiences.

Have been on some creepy properties though. Was on one north of vanderpool my buddy owned that was very creepy. Extremely gamy area but this one held few animals. Whole time you were on the ranch you felt someone was watching you. Always very still.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

We had a ghost in our Fraternity house at SFA. Story was that she was the spinster sister of the guy that built the house at the turn of the 20th century and helped raise his kids.
Our landlord said she would like having a house full of guys.
Nothing bad happened but she would occasionally move dishes around in the kitchen.

I'm not convinced that they exist, but when Christ appeared to the Disciples in the closed upper room, he didn't say "You idiots, there's no such thing."

That being said, how come there aren't a lot of pissed-off Comanche ghosts scaring the crap out of people? 'Seems that'd be right down their alley.

There are a lot of stories circulating around SFA. I had an experience in Hall 16 back in the early 90s and there was a lot of chatter about the dorms back then too.

All the stories in the world won't convince the non believers until it actually happens to them.

I knew that was coming, but I'm not rewriting it. I started a similar thread a couple years ago, but it's in the archives now. Can't pull anything older than a year old? Besides, like I said before, my story or anyone else's won't change the mind of a non believer. But I understand that. I don't believe in little green men, either. Because I haven't seen them. Doesn't mean they don't exist!

PS I'm not retyping it because all I have is a 7 inch phone. Way too tedious!

There is a reasonable explanation for everyone of them. Ghosts don't exist.

I’m not saying they don’t exist nor am I saying green men don’t exist because in reality we don’t have a clue what’s out there or around us. I keep an open mind about pretty much everything except Democrats roflmao so who knows. I was curious what you experienced but I wouldn’t be typing on a iPhone either so I understand.

I did not really used to believe in ghost - spirits - whatever they are, but a house we had in college and our current house now has changed my mind.

I genuinely think the stuff at the college house was sinister - we (me and two buddies 2008ish) broke the lease and got out within the first week. Our house we (wife and I) built that we live in now doesn't seem bad...just creeps the wife out - I just ignore it.

I've had two that I can think of. House my buddies and I lived at in college was a little weird. First week in the house, roommate was walking past his room and swore he saw a figure in a white dress standing over in the corner. When he looked again nothing was there. After that, things kept happening. Buddy stayed the night one night on the couch and woke up to the TV on with just a blue screen making static noises (remote was on the counter.) We'd wake up in the morning and all of our kitchen cabinet doors would be open and the basement door we know we closed would be open. The one thing that directly happened to me was I made sure to shut both my closet doors before bed and woke up around 3 in the morning because it was freezing cold in my room. Noticed one of my closet doors was now open and this little orb like thing flew in front of my bed and disappeared. The weird part is usually I'd fly out of my bed running scared, but for some reason it relaxed me. One time we were having a fire in the back yard and the whole house locked itself. T'was a fun house. I'm debating posting the other one later since my fingers hurt now.

I watched a youtube video hosted by an Orthodox, or possibly Roman Catholic monk. The gist of it was, if it is making contact with you, it ain't on our side, no matter how benign it may appear.

Christ himself warned not to dabble with spiritualism type stuff.

We had a wiry, weird, little mechanic that worked for us. Had all kinds of halloween-type crap stuck to his stand-up work desk. 'Think he was from El Salvador. He wasn't doing his work, so it came time to fire him. Other mechanics warned me - "Watch out, he's a 'curandero' (or whatever the term is in El Salvador)." I fired his butt. 'Never had a problem. The "reader" crap used to be big in San Antonio. All that junk doesn't jibe with Christianity, even Roman Catholicism. Always seemed to me it's a leftover from the Aztecs. bolt

Second one freaked me out a lot more. We were on a lease southwest of Glenrose, about roughly 95% of the property was cedar. Once night buddy and I were out rabbit hunting and I shot at this rabbit that ran across the road. Went into the woods chasing after him and about 2 minutes in I noticed I wasn't getting cut up by cedars anymore. Lifted my light up and noticed I had ran into a 50 yard by 50 yard oak grove. Went back the next morning to check it out again and noticed that 5 trails merged into one at the back of the grove so decided to go out the next weekend and put a bow stand up. Put the stand up, trail camera, etc and decided I'd come back opening day of bow season and test my luck. Ended up having something come up so I couldn't hunt but a fellow lease member asked if he could hunt it. Said sure go for it and let me know what he sees. He calls me 15 minutes before dark and said somethings not right with that spot and he felt like something was watching him the whole time. I brushed it off and went out there the next weekend. Sole purpose of the trip was to replace the batteries in all the cameras as well as check out the pictures at the different blinds. Unfortunately when I was leaving after dark I felt a sim card in my pocket and low and behold it was that blinds sim card. Got my flash light, walked back in there and as soon as I got to the entrance of that oak grove it was like hitting a wall. I could feel something was off but decided to walk back in there as fast as I could and put the card in. That was a mistake.. I opened that trail camera up put the sim card in and then watched as the full battery bar drained to dead. I was frozen and it felt like someone was looking over my shoulder. Figured best move was to look at the ground and get out of there. Soon as I thought that my flashlight dimmed and then died. I have never run so fast in the dark. Only thing I could see was the truck lights 75 yards away. Never went back there, not even for the stand.

B, that's a good story. People don't understand how frightened you can get. Frozen is a good word for it. You may think nothing can scare you, but it will terrify you.

this particular story is similar to another spot/canyon on my place
dead battery , no pics, corn gone

big tough grown men running scared at night when they feel cold chills down their spines in the middle of summer nights
never to return to that same spot

I can read these stories/experiences with much appreciations as I've experienced several, in several places
Houston, Dallas, Eastland

it all started when I saw a girl/lady dead on road (I-45, Glade rd, around Conroe ) after being hit by several vehicles and by a
Nissan Pathfinder in front of me. I touched her neck check for pulse.... her spirits did something to me.... I am very sensitive to
energy now. can walk in a room and tell if there is spirit(s) lingering

The only thing about that spot that i found odd at first when I found it was the ground was perfect. No branches on the ground, no weeds, no grass, just pure perfect dirt. Maybe someone here has an experience with that? Brought my dad back there at one point and he didn’t like it either. I’m only 26 so I’m sure I’ll have more stories later on but I hope not.

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
