The charity I support, New Hope Equine Assisted Therapy has been blessed by the donation of a yearly trophy mule deer hunt on the BAR73 Ranch in the Texas Panhandle. This ranch no longer sells hunts, and the only trophy hunt available each year going forward will be available at auction during our charity gala on October. Winning bidder can book the hunt for the 2023 or 2024 hunting season. One non-hunting guest can accompany the hunter. If you know anything about the BAR73 up in the panhandle, you'll know that this is a great hunt with potential for a very nice muley. There are dozens of my past clients on this site that will act as reference.

Couple pics of last years buck. Scored at almost an exact 150". Not bad considering it was a drought year. Hoping for improved headgear with the record rains we've been having.

Very nice buck. I would take him any day.

This was my tag last year. Dave is way to humble to actually give this opportunity the true credit it deserves.

IMO- This ranch is about as close as you can get to 100% opportunity of 150-170 on TX free range mulie. With that said there is documented proof(a whole book of Photo’s) of a 200”er. Only trophy tag on this Ranch goes to this auction for Dave’s Charity. Last year the only other deer taken was a 7.5 year old Bigggg Forkie cull after I left. I cant complement Dave and the Ranch enough on hospitality.

I ended up only having a day to hunt due to work and kids activities. With that said I saw 15 bucks first day with 5 that where 5.5 or older.

With last year being a drought year, I choose to kill the 6.5 year old buck above, he checked all my boxes perfectly. With that said I passed on his amigo that was 4.5 years old and 160”ish.

I image with the great moisture earlier this year, this should be an exceptional year.

Is it fair to ask about how much it usually goes for?

Hunted this place before present owners acquired it and the Amarillo foundation donated the ranch on east side of this place to TPWD. If it could be hunted during the rut they could be some monsters taken there. We looked at some in middle to late December that would compare with those on the New Mexico border in Gaines,Yoakum Cochran .and others in the farm country. I saw one on the east fence line that would 180-190''. heck of a ranch.

Won’t find a more fun hunt with any better people and some great Texas mule deer.

I was traveling but wouldn't have come close to that range. Happy someone was able to bless them with that donation. Good on everyone here.

I attended the event for the second year in a row. It is a wonderful time, excellant food and adult beverages. I cannot recommend any higher or any place I would rather be. Even if it is a date night with your spouse. Next years event is Oct 25 at the Lucky Spur Ranch.

I would enjoy going to that event. I may try next year. Hard for me to do anything but hunt during deer season though. Wonderful y’all were able to raise good money.
