Hello THF! I piddle around with building furniture in what little spare time I have between my real job and my beautiful family. What I'm really passionate is making heirloom quality furniture out of real, solid materials that will last a lifetime. I've made a few bookshelves for friends and family, and thought I'd see if there is any interest out there from my fellow NE Texans.

These units are 4' wide and 6' tall. The shelf boards are a locally sourced rough cut 1x12 cypress wood with a tung oil finish, and the frame is made from mitered 2x2 square tubing.

Not trying to make a living here, just love staying busy and building stuff. $800. I'm in Hallsville, Tx and happy to deliver anywhere within an hour. I'd also be happy to make a delivery run to the DFW area if there were at least 2 units I could deliver in one trip.

Thank you sir! I also made a desk that matches, but not ready to start selling those just yet.

What is the estimated weight limit for each shelf?

I don't know that I've ever tried to quantify that... it's a true 1" thick solid cypress board spanning ~4'. I can tell you it holds a whole shelf full of hardback books with no problem.

Cypress is very lightweight and visually appealing. I can also source rough cut red oak, which ought to hold more weight across any given board span.

Just finished setting up a new unit at Steel Mill Farms in downtown Gilmer. The store owners will be using it for retail display, and were very pleased with how it turned out. (Btw, a great place to buy homegrown, locally sourced meat!)

I can do these shelves in just about any size to fit your specific needs, along with desks, tables, etc to match. Don't be afraid to reach out and run your ideas by me!

Another shelf out the door and another happy customer. This was a customized per request for THF'er hpb_rst and is being used as a display for his wife's favorite potted plants. Let me know what you're looking for!

Yes Crews built this to spec for me and did an awesome job. It is very sturdy and I have no doubt it will serve its purpose for years to come. My wife is very happy with it. Crews was extremely easy to deal with and did a great job. I highly recommend using him if you need a very sturdy custom peice.

Thanks
RT
