A Tesla doesn't have a transmission like you're thinking of a transmission. EVs will eventually have them and it's something that ZF, GNK, and Continental are all working on.

I don't know about y'all but my rule of thumb when towing is that I want what I'm towing with to outweigh what I'm towing. I know the Tesla's are kind of heavy but I don't have any idea what a pontoon boat weighs.

When I was a younger broker man I pulled my bass boat with a 4 banger 5 speed Nissan truck and knew it was too much. It cost me a transmission. I wonder if this guy knows he's wrong, and what it will cost him.

Boat will weigh anywhere between 1500 to 3000 pounds, depending on the weight of the motor and how much seating there is. Depending on which Tesla that is, it can tow 3500 to 5000 pounds, but I wouldn't try it.

We had a pontoon boat for a while...pulled it with a 2001 F150 SuperCrew...The way the boat caught wind, I might as well have been dragging a freaking billboard or a barn behind me. I hate towing a pontoon boat.

It's not the weight. The car has a lot more power than some might think. It's the idea of getting the car in the water to launch the boat that is the issue.
