I had a piece of rock that needed attention. It doesn’t knap so grind and polish was the task. The edges are straight and somewhat sharp. The point is 5”x2-1/4”x5/16”. Overall length is 54”. The rock is Coal Creek Serpentine that’s only found in 2 counties in Texas. I picked it up from a creek behind my deer camp. I cut the wild persimmon handle from deer camp. The point is hand wet sanded to 12,000 grit. It’s slick as glass. There are 3 pics of the rough rock. The rock comes in a few colors. The last 2 pics are a piece of it that I made a paperweight. Again, hand wet sanded to 12,000 grit. The last pic is just to show how glossy it gets after some hours of sanding.

Pretty cool....!

I've only made one Spear. Intending to use it on a Feral Hog.....but never have. It would be a 'one shot' deal if I ever did.

I made the 'point' from Obsidian (VERY easy to break)....but just a piece I had laying around that was big enough to make a spear point from.

Then knapped a really sharp 'bleeder' from Agate and fastened it below the Spear Point. Fun to make....but not very practical.

Definitely get my A$$ stomped by a Wooly Mammoth if we went 'back in the day'. grin

Excellent! I made one years and years ago fully intending to use it on a pig but age and a little wisdom caught me in time.

Great work! Maybe we need to get together and 'team up' on a pig.

I see in that pic you have some old Leg Hold traps (Victors)?
