I hunt solo and have a bad back. What do people think about a ramp that you can build to help get big game into the truck bed. I have tried a bunch of different things (like the Hitch winch), but this one looks really interesting. It uses pvc pipe as rollers and some rebar. I actually think I can build this and use it for 250 pound plus game which is usually the limit of some the other systems. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! YouTube Link

Some just use a sheet of plywood in the bed. I’ve got a couple folding ramps that I use for really heavy things. I’ve also got a hitch mounted game hoist that I bought after moving one too many large hogs, but I switched to gutless or just backstrapping most of the time. A rotating game hoist works really well but is somewhat awkward to transport.

That looks like it takes up an absurd amount of space and would overall be a PIA. What do you think it would weigh?

I’d use a hitch rack/winch instead. Lift, skin/clean deer and anything else. This is how I get my generator in my truck

There is usually a rack in the back. Thread the cable through the ladder and it makes hoisting simple. Even without it, you can still get game off the ground and into the bed, just have to use a little muscle.

Yeah for out of the way and more functionality seems like the hitch winch is a lot better deal.

Atv ramp and winch on headache bar on top of cab. This is what we do on the side by sides. Winch up on top of the rear of the cab and the tilt bed makes it easy enough to lift up into the bed and drag back

I use the hitch lift also. But I replaced the hand crank with a warn winch that runs via a cordless drill.. https://www.amazon.com/WARN-101575-Handheld-Portable-Synthetic/dp/B082N5QL9H/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2MAQHB06IVB77&keywords=warn%2Bwinch%2Bcordless%2Bdrill&qid=1692031456&sprefix=warn%2Bwinch%2Bcordless%2Bdrill%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-3&th=1 makes it so much easier to lift things that are up to 350 lbs...

Awesome setups. My back is not the best and those are game changers.

That's what this old man uses, except I still crank it by hand.

Last time I had to load a large axis buck into my truck solo I used what I found around camp. An 8" ladder and a piece of plywood. Worked like a charm.
