bang

It appears a mama yote decided to push out a litter near one of my feeders. Cute little fellas, but I'd absolutely be setting in ambush for these guys while they're still dumb and visible if I were there. They've been hanging around the feeder quite a bit...have more pics than these.

Yup. Only seen yotes eat corn during the heavy drought years, though. This is a first, but I guess with pups, there really are no rules.

I have video of full grown Coyotes and Fox eating corn.....but it isn't something normally do.

Of course they eat a variety of items (not being strictly carnivores). Berries, seeds and seed pods, grains and even grasses.

Hope those little ones don't stray too far from Momma. Other Coyotes will often times savage the young of others.

I've seen them follow the cattle and eat manure. I've seen that a lot. I didn't know they'd eat corn.

When I worked at Oliver Lee State Park in south-central New Mexico, I used to spread bird feed outside the big observation window so that visitors could see some of the very interesting species that inhabit the foothills of the Sacramento Mountains. One day I just put out the seed and returned to the office, when I spotted a desert fox licking up the seed as fast as he could. Quite a surprise.
