I have no issue giving GW access or LEO but my lock gets cut randomly, I wouldn't be happy.

Your case is probably a little different, You weren't exactly trying to catch licensing violations. more Meth house(or worse) vs untagged deer is a little different.

I enforced the TP&W Code too. Not exclusively but as needed. Other than internet rumors I’ve never heard of a game warden cutting a lock just to conduct random checks.

I would think they would cut the chain and add their lock
if your lock is getting cut don't think its the law, most likely outlaw

I have never seen one in my area that has been more than 10 feet from their truck.

You can bet they've seen you from a very, very long way off and you never knew it.

Maybe, maybe not. I am military trained and have pretty good situational awareness. But I dont worry about it because I am very careful about following the laws. They can check me any time they want.

For several years I hunted the property that now is part of a wind farm. It was a mile south of Woodsboro. If your cousin is the same individual, she is hoot! Enjoyed all my interactions with that lady.

Most of the time, they have the combo ot key to locks on utility easment gates and for oilfield companies. So if you have a power line on your property, that is how they get onto the ranch. Also of course from from pipeline gates and oil lease roads. They wont cut the ranch lock or gate to come in. They can and will climb over a gate/fence to get in though. Also with satelitte, they know exactly where to walk and how far the camp is.

I have never see it either, or knew anyone it had happened too and figured it was more internet rumor thus why I asked. Ive only had one State Warden I could say I honestly thought needed a new profession, she was special. Dozens of interactions and only one bad, Feds and Tribal different story. I think the State of Texas does a good job hiring its own to police its own if that makes sense. Feds not so much. Half might as well be wearing a PETA patch.

Buddy of mine has 1,200 acres in Buffalo, TX. No trespassing means no trespassing. GW calls when he gets to the gate and someone from property management team greets them at the gate and escorts them where they need or want to go. Never a single problem.

The warden has my gate combo but he always calls ahead.

I dont see the issue, I have a good relationship with him.

I've been on leases that the game warden used the power company code/key to get into the gate.

MOST of the time when I get checked by the game warden, its in town. I can't tell you how many times I've been checked at Allsups buying ice.

Yeah, got checked once at a rest stop, while on the way to hunt. Obviously he had no way of knowing I hadn’t hunted yet. But even after telling him he still looked around and wanted to see my hunting license.

Side note…. Always kinda thought if water safety checks were really about safety they would check you at boat ramp before launching the boat.

What is the point of calling a head?
