Hello guys, I prob know some of you from the fishing forums but I am new to dove hunting. I am hopeing i could find someone to go hunting with that might teach me a little about it this year even if i dont get a good kill count. Just a little hunting time to learn the sport. I live in Slaton just outside of Lubbock. I am 35 and this is my first time to hunt. I am also looking for a place to maybe go get some wild hogs for the freezer. Thanks Bryan Pauley bryanpauley@yahoo.com

Hey Brian, I used to live out in Slaton myself. Good luck and welcome to the sport. I ain't out in West Texas anymore or I would definitely go dove hunting with you. If you're looking for hogs though check down around the Seminole area if you know anyone down that way.
Grab ahold of something, bite your lip, and GIVE IT HELL!!!!!

Bryan where all did you go this morning? What did you see flying, or rather how many? I'm from the lubbock area and try to get out as frequent as possible.

You are in prime territory for that. If you have never hunted them I would highly advise doing so-it is extremely fun.

Did you ever find public land to hunt on near lubbock? I went down to San angelo and hunted some of their public land outside of town this weekend, and i'd like to find somewhere to hunt near lubbock.
we killed a decent number of dove this weekend near san angelo and then out near rankin.

If gordonville isnt to far of a drive for you there is a lot of public land that goes to lake texoma some in grayson and some in cooke...seen lots of deer out there great spot.
and for dove hunting the area around gunter and tioga is great just have to know people but most farmers will let you hunt their land but for a small fee.
