Marked one off my bucket list and went walleye fishing on a Great Lake (Huron) this past Friday. Water was pretty rough going out that morning but calmed down as the sun came up. Did well from 6:30am -10:30am then the bite just shutoff.

Heading to New York State for the week and we have a VRBO right on a river . Owner said they have lots of walleye in the river but he’s not a fisherman. I’ve never fished for walleye in my life so any tips would be greatly appreciated. Lures ? Baits ? Any info ? Thanks

In a river I used to bounce a jig head and mister twister along the bottom.

This with nightcrawlers: https://shop.northlandtackle.com/rigs/pro-walleye-crawler-harness/Leeches and minnows are also good options: https://www.northlandtackle.com/leeches-vs-minnows-vs-nightcrawlers/Northland knows their S%$t and probably as a percentage is the single biggest source of my walleye tackle - both hard water and soft water. Op - nice haul. Good eating right there.
