Kinda surprised to hear that stat. The company I work for is based in Atlanta and those folks drive way faster and more aggressively than anywhere I've been. Even Commifornia.

I grew up going to Houston and remember the traffic, but not carpy driving. When I moved to the DFW area is when I first noticed pretty much every red light gets run. If you put on your blinker some sumbich is gonna try to speed up to block you.

Glad I rarely leave my bubble here in the burbs except to hunt. And I'm certain the Rona shutdown generally made folks more aggressive and stoopid... and that's a bad combo.

Work took me to Tomball for weeks at a time. The one thing I remember is always stop at a stop sign because most of the locals don't.

You didn't want the dude to get wherever two minutes sooner. You care. And it's not even about you. Be courteous. Drive the speed limit. It's not hard.

Sounds like you might be a candidate for FAFO action someday.

Creek, it doesnt matter if its legal or not. Just tell a GW and he will shoot right over and pull her outa the house and arrest her at gunpoint. Or at least some on here think so. bolt
I would be all for that, of course.

News flash Max. Whether or not you allow adequate commute time in your itinerary is not the responsibility of every driver on the freeway. Sorry man but it is just not so. Nobody here is advocating driving slow in the fast lane. Regardless of what you desire, it is not your privilege to dictate that all drivers on the freeway speed to mitigate your poor time management. And you already know that.

I don’t commute. I’ve never had an itinerary. I don’t even know what those words mean. Just stay outta my way, left lane camper.

Except it can’t be slower. There is no “minus” to this. There are many companies that make accurate replacement speedometers.

The Code of Federal Regulations clearly states it's "plus or minus". You're either grossly misinformed or just making stuff up.

Show me a speedometer that reads slower than actual speed.

Texans used to pull over on the shoulder or otherwise courteously get out of the way of faster drivers.

Now we are full of illegals, Yankees, & entitled Boomer Karens.

I believe few if any people get shot at on the freeway for no reason. And you very seldom hear someone say on one of those TV news reports what happened before hot lead started flying their way.

As usual, Smokey is the voice of reason. Most on here have been as well. "Mad" Max would be a good screen name for Max. I cant remember him ever saying anything positive, ever. Max obviously needs to leave just a little earlier to go to all the places he goes that are so much more important than everyone else.
Someone that admits traffic is crazy, people drive bad, accidents are everywhere and then encourages people to speed its just hard to fathom(yes I know slow driving is dangerous too.)
I keep coming back to this thread hoping I will learn something new about how I should drive different. Nope, Ill keep doing me and just hope yall dont kill me or my family.

I think Max is a roadrager. I can see him now yelling at everyone on the road. I drive my truck just like a computer would drive it, zero emotion, and driver very logical and efficient, easy on the gas, and easy on the breaks....

Coming back from Waco yesterday, I was on a 2 lane and doing 80 in a 75. Had a guy in a dually right on my bumper, and I mean he was too close for my comfort. I didn’t slow down, though I considered it. What is the danged rush? Was doing 80 going to Waco, on a 4 lane, and several folks passed me that must have been doing 100 or close to it. One of them was driving an old Mercury that had lost much of its paint. No way would I drive that junker that fast.

Passed two wrecks on the way home (cops all around them) and later an EMS vehicle running with lights and siren.

If I still had teenaged beginner drivers, I would be scared for them. It’s crazy out there.

Thanks for reminding me of the joys of driving on a 2 lane these days. "RAM" tough (or any brand) idiots that'll ride your butt (I go the speed limit) but have no clue what to do when you get to a PASSING ZONE and there are no other cars, either direction, for miles! They want you to throw it in the ditch instead. Gutless Wonders.

When I was in high school in the 70's, had a 4x4 truck all beat up, big dent in my back bumper with a bumper sticker on it that said "Please tailgate, I need the money". Funny to watch tailgaters back off after reading it. I hate bumper stickers, but I loved that one.

Best way to deal with tailgaters is to drive a 1-ton pickup equipped with a hay-bale spike.

Wichita Falls has a lot of Yankees, Okies and farmers coming to town on saturdays and lots of untrained kids driving. Not to mention old people that can't hardly see over the steering wheel. You can bet that at least half of the drivers don't stop at stop signs, a rolling stop at best. And that includes city vehicles.

Can get fined for it if it is down or unprotected.

Okies cannot drive for [censored]. I have witnessed it on many occasions and it is shameful. I do not think they care though and will continue to do so.
