Ive heard about Darn Tough socks on here but upgrading socks has never been a priority so I havent followed up at all. Yesterday I saw them in a store for the first time and figure I may want to get them. My Son lives in Colo and wears them year round for everything including work and running 70 miles a week in the mountains. Im curious what yall think about them in general but specifically which type. There are apparently many many different varieties/types. On line they show hunting, tactical(whats that?), work, athletic, casual, hike, and many more. It seems like the percentage of wool vs nylon varies with varieties. I can handle the color choices and the various heights but not sure about the other variety choices. I foresee wearing them for everything and hoping one type will be good enough or maybe I need to have multiple types for various different uses. I definitely plan to use for hunting(cold and hot weather), working outdoors, athletics (tennis and gym) and hopefully just knocking around casual. They are very pricey so they need to be very special compared to everyday socks. Thoughts????

I only wear Darn Tough high Merino content for backpack hunting. I also have Darn Tough for skiing and daily winter life (when I am where there is winter, not here in Texas). They are not pricey considering their lifetime warranty. I've never regretted buying them. I don't remember where from but I bought a pair with which the authenticity was in question (last time I ever bought them outside of Darn Tough's web site). Their customer service sent me two pair no questions asked. Really interesting part though is they asked for detailed pics of the questionable socks. They were unable conclusively assess authenticity.

I love these socks. I have low cut for tennis shoes and shorts
My favorite are the lightweight hiking for everyday use. I also have some medium weight for cooler days.

Im hoping I dont have to have a different kind for each use. When I go to the lease to work I can be there a week so not excited about buying that many pair. Then when I hunt I can be gone for two weeks so thats a lot of money. Then theres everyday use and sports. Really hoping I can figure out what middle of the road type would serve multiple purposes. Maybe I need to just wash em by hand at the lease. I plan to call them on Monday and ask these type questions. I will keep checking back here cause I knew yall would have good info.

When I camp and backpack I just hang in the tent overnight and wear again. They are wool and really do not retain any odor like cotton does. They can be washed with other clothes too, no special handling.

I've been wearing several pairs of Incredisocks for more than 10 years. One pair finally wore out.

Never heard of them. Probably gonna try them out. I think their big claim to fame is they are guaranteed for life. Very pricey initially.

Never heard of them. Probably gonna try them out. That's what I thought 'till I saw the price. Twenty five bucks for a sock is too rich for my blood. Tax and all that would be over $50 for a pair.

Agree with all of the reviews. These are great socks. Bought them online, but have seen them at Cabellas.

I was going to buy a few, but I looked at the “we value difference” tab on the website. It started out normal enough, but it soon spiraled into BLM and St. George Floyd. I guess if we look hard enough, all companies have some views I don’t agree with, but this particular drivel was too much for me to support.

I’ve been wearing nothing but Darn Tough and Farm to Feet for probably 10 years. $20 is cheap for something you can use every day. I used to have eczema on my feet that would explode each summer wearing cotton socks. I’d come home and my feet would be broken out. Switched to merino wool socks and have that day on have never had an issue again. They last longer, are more comfortable, and are 100x better in the heat compared to a cotton sock.

I just ordered a pair. I’ve been looking for something I could wear everyday with a boot. I’ve always had foot pain with cotton socks

Where on earth do you live that tax would be over $25 for a $25 item? A sock (singular). Two socks (a pair) would be $50. You never know what something will cost these days. I watch Project Farm's rating on Rain-X wiper blades, so I went into Walmart to buy a pair. They were marked $25. I thought that was steep for a pair of wiper blades, but the $25 was for one blade! So $25 for one sock wouldn't surprise me.
