Just saw today off the Tollway and Spring Valley they are putting in a store right next to Dick's. It says opening in the fall of this year.

So, put a store to appeal to roughly 20% of the hunting population price wise, makes sense to me, lolllll.

Why x2? Although I question that actual location, I am sure a standalone shop in one of the most concentrated areas of hunters in the country has a chance of A) building the Kuiu brand and B) selling high a lot of high margin merchandise direct to the consumer and cutting out the the wholesale partners.

I think it's more about maintaining, and enhancing their market presence than actual revenue for this single site.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I think it will do just fine. There are plenty of stores in the Galleria that only appeal to 20% of the shoppers.

Some of you need to get out of Texas, they appeal to way more than 20% of hunters. At least out West.
We only use some of their hats , gloves etc, lol.
Might have a shirt or 2 bought on a closeout.

Be nice for those buying to try on and not just order and see if it fits. Also nice to check out materials and know how quiet they are or are not.

If you're asking a silly question that can easily be Googled, then Kuiu isn't for you. I'd also say if you're just sitting in an office chair in a deer blind, there's no reason to wear anything than jeans and a jacket. If you're putting boots on the ground and/or hunting in the elements, than clothing and gear made by Kuiu, Sitka, etc. are definitely beneficial in keeping you warm/cool/comfortable.

Dang, Sitka is at cabelas/BPS, stone glacier is at Scheels, now a stand alone brick and mortar for Kuiu...almost like these companies are going against their intent of being a direct to consumer company cutting out the middle man...I understand the need for expanding the market but also grabbing market share is important for company growth.

Agree with Gringo above, for sitting in a box blind and not doing much else, these companys are no better than cheap walmart and academy/bps clothes. But for boots ont he ground hunters, this stuff can shine. I do appreciate the ability to layer and have excellent technical gear for the application needed and I use this stuff a lot more than just for hunting. Good gear is good for a reason.

just like how some can not tell a difference in typical texas beef and Waygu, and some can tell the difference yet prefer the typical texas beef over the Waygu, and still others prefer the taste and texture of Waygu over typical texas beef, the higher end hunting equipment/clothing/pack lines are not for everyone. Taste is in the eye of the beholder.

Brick and mortar stores interest me. I don’t care for ordering clothes online, not fitting properly and having to make a return. This happened with a Kuiu vest I ordered, and was 2 sizes too small. I ordered the same size I wear every day, was just way too small. Had to return, wasn’t interested in an exchange. Had to eat the shipping fee.

They come to DSC every year with products to try on and order. That's what I did. Though I'm looking to sell my pants and jacket to replace with the same but in solid color. I was a victim of my impatience and ordered what was available rather than wait for solids.

I think the store is dumb.

Duluth Trading Company did the same thing. Not sure if it worked out for them or not.

Some of my hunting clothes are high-end, but I don't buy it for the camo... I buy that stuff because it's normally the warmest, most silent and comfortable stuff I can find. And I feel perfectly fine wearing it in a box blind or a tree stand, or on a stalk.

I learned my first hunting season that you generally get what you pay for in hunting gear, and if you want to enjoy hunting in the elements, you better make some investments. Wanna freeze your butt off, even in Texas? Go ahead and wear those blue jeans.

So far, most of my stuff is older Cabela's or First Lite, but would absolutely love to try things on before purchasing.

Greatest whitetail hunting state….maybe.

Oh thank God! You saved me from going into a 20 min lecture on how places like Colorado, Nee Mexico, Wyoming , etc. exist so Texans have a place to go and spend our money…

I would love to have a Kuiu outlet. I would shop there, and would make purchases much easier.

Kuiu, firstlite, Vuni, etc. are a good value considering the quality and longevity of their clothing.

Kuiu and FL have moved into the waterfowl and whitetail world now, the new fleece line is perfect for long sits in a tree stand or blind

Great company imo.

Im thinking the same thing(meant to quote the "gonna cost me money" post). The first time I go I need to not take my credit card. Need to sleep on decisions like this. I can see myself just buying one of everything. Like a kid in a candy store. Maybe I can get Bobo and TexBuck to go with me and hold my hand. Of course if I did that I would need Hud along to chirp in my ear ("whats wrong with Carhart?").

because they went from 0-$70 mil with zero store fronts and a direct to consumer approach

From location stand point NTX is money, I just think investing in brick and mortar store front and long term leases, destroys their efficiency model.

From a business aspect Kuiu is a very interesting company. They out source every thing but CS and design. Warehouse, CFO, ERP systems etc are all out sourced. Its like 4 companies making one.

yelp store in Arlington seems dead. Been in a few times. Brick and mortar is risky these days
