...they are still wrong. This is from Brazos Valley Boars. I spoke with Daniel after seeing the video. They had the landowner in tow and he was running the 3rd person camera from behind Daniel and his crew. They had seen the poachers before heading to the hogs and went after the hogs first as per the landowner request, the landowner apparently being more bothered by the hogs than the poachers. I got a good laugh at the poachers reappearing after the shooting stopped.

Apparently they were friends of the landowner's nephew who owned land on the other side of the road. They got confused and went the wrong direction? Maybe on purpose, maybe not. Can't say I blame them for hitting the dirt when the shooting started, though.

I wonder about such "mistakes.'' We hunt a lot of properties. We always make sure we know the boundaries and if there is confusion about a place, we don't go there.
I don't think we have ever been confused about land on the other side of the road. Things can be confusing in the dark with cross fences and property lines on a new place, but not on the other side of the road.

Certainly that was a major screw-up on the part of the trespassers, intentional or not. I agree that being on the wrong side of the road is pretty egregious. Did they not check the property out during daylight hours? How would they know which directions would be safe for shooting? Yeah, they got off pretty light all things considered.

We certainly check things out in the daytime first before starting a new property. In fact, I get the landowners to give me a tour so that I know about their concerns, hazards, areas where they have noticed hog damage, etc. No clue as to what they did. The whole interaction was in the video with the poachers was on the video.

So kids trying take liberties they didnt have and went on the wrong day. I've seen too many of these reality TV cops shows... they knew. Hopefully kids that learned a good lesson the easy way and not the hard way.

I highly doubt they checked anything to be 100% sure of where they were.. I am raising teenagers myself
Although id be upset if it were my land, I can assure you teenagers have strong bouts of head up Azz daily
I would give the kids a break and a strong "reminder", but grown men get don't get a pass...

I caught some poachers night hunting on my friend's land . They said they thought they could hunt there because their uncle was paid to plant winter wheat there by my friend .

Damn. Glad no one was hurt. Hopefully a good lesson learned. “Hambush” 😂😂😂
Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.
