You missed a good one John wind was out of the North blowing hard and fishtailing like nobody's business. Chad showed up with his 300 win mag looking like he was going to rule the Day . He started out killing it but ended up a little short at the end of the day.

Yes, it was a good match! My 300 WM was dialed in for sure. I had a brain fart on my correction on the small plate for a miss on the shoot off. The 15-20 mph North wind was tricky, as well as some vertical, I think, from the hill. I like these matches a lot, and my daughter enjoys them also. Thank you Senior for a great time!!

Sure would be swell to see an equipment list, but I know that takes a lot of trouble to assemble.
Also a little baffled by the relays. I get that you have four minutes to take 10 shots, but do you have to shoot the plates in order? Do the guys who are really good just shoot the 3-inch and skip the 5 and the 8?
And a shooter who does not shoot the cold barrel or advance to the finals has a total of eight minutes' shooting for the entire match?
Any Youtubes of this?
Sorry for all the questions.

You can shoot 10 times at any of the plates you chose to shoot at. Generally if you shoot at the largest plate and hit it every time you stand a very good chance of making it to the final 8.

I can’t imagine not shooting the cold bore to see how you and the gun are doing in the conditions available. I’ve also won more money on cold bore than I’ve lost. It’s winner take all.

Yes, you may only have 8 minutes total behind the rifle if you don’t qualify. Sprinters show up to perform for mere seconds a day. It’s all perspective. When I go to the range I’ll usually be there 2-3 hours shooting with the people I go with. I enjoy shooting to and am usually disappointed at my performance at matches and the fact I want to shoot more. I think I need more practice time. Preparing for my sprint and all.

I highly recommend going. It a good friendly environment as I’m sure most matches are. It’s amazing what you can learn about wind in 8 minutes. bang

Equipment: Your rifle (with ammunition), bipod and rear bag are the essentials. A chair, something to drink and maybe a snack come in handy. Rifles in the winners circle have ranged from standard hunting setups to bench rest and everything in between.

Question to you all concerning the "New" format.

Are You:

1. Single Loading
2. Running a 10 round magazine?

I really don't know how long 4 minutes in shooting terms is..

Magazine makes the most sense unless you are letting the land seat your bullets. Or the action is not fast and slick.

Really just asking for all you other shooters. Really won't matter to me, I just like to hear guns go boom. rifle elmer

Buzz I single loaded and timed out the first time but was my fault. I quit in the middle thinking time had expired. The second time I felt a little rushed but it prob from the anxiety of the first time. I did complete all 10 rounds. I fell like once I figure out how to pace myself it’s plenty of time. 24 seconds per round.

I have a magazine but unless I can figure out how to keep it from scratching my brass I’m not using it. Plus now that I have the left bolt right eject it’s easy to single feed.

Have you tried the MDT Polymer magazines. They have been great for me and don't scratch the brass. Just a thought. BTW, I think your new 7mm-08 build is a rock star !!
