Does anyone in here reload 30-378 Weatherby? I am wondering what press you are using and how are you putting in primers. My 2 RCBS presses spindles are not big enough to fit the brass in and not tall enough either. I have a shell holder fo my Lee primer tool but it is not wide enough for the brass to fit into. Anybody got any help?
some people like silver and gold I like brass and lead with a little powder in between

I run the Redding Big Boss and T7 presses. They work fine for the big 30-378 Wby rounds (and bigger). The shell holder is the same as the 338 Lapua round, which is #14. It's a big round for sure. I use a Lee Auto Prime 2 to prime all my single stage cases. The die mounts on top of the press and uses a standard shell holder. Some of the Lee and RCBS priming tools won't work on the really big rounds.

I don't load .30-378, but I'm confident the Lee Challenger Breech Lock press would also work. That's what I load on and I've loaded long magnums like the 7mm STW and 458 Lott out past 3.65" COAL, which is right at the standard length for the .30-378. I don't recall ever having loading issues with length. You'd just need the right shellholder. Looks like it's Lee #16. I can't speak as to handheld priming tools, as I load small batches and just prime on the press with the same shellholder. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

They can be loaded on the Rock Chuckar, just set the bullet in the case neck and then place it in the press. If you have dies with the window, it is easier.

Some of the dies have a window cut in the body of the seating die to drop the bullet in. Whidden, Matchmasters and a few other have it.

My Rockchucker is from the 1980’s and when I put the brass in the shell holder it sticks up in the neck of the press

Rebarrel it for 300 Norma Mag, and your troubles are over. Now, I've got a 30" long barrel, and it's a shooting rifle, not a hunting rifle. But, a 250 gr A-tip at 2980 fps MV. Over 85.0 gr of powder.

I actually broke my first RCBS. Took about 25 years of heavy use.

Because clearly the length of the brass is causing you some difficulties. Barrels are like tires on a pickup.

You ever shot a 30-378? You shoot a hog and you can stick your fist in the hole it makse It's just ballistics. I gave you another option, in a shorter package. You don't want it. Fine.
