I don't know. I only bought EGO because I already had the blower and hedge trimmer, so with three batteries total and the price that's what I went with. So much better to have this in the back of the Ranger without a gas can and the dependability that goes along with it. You really have to keep the chain tight, it will loosen up on you pretty quick so every few cuts make sure it's tight. When cutting through small stuff that's not rigid and bounces off the bar it will throw the chain. A saw with more power and rpm's prolly would be better, but I've learned how to run this one so it's no longer an issue for me. If I cut firewood by the cord I'd want gas, for trimming and cutting shooting lanes battery powered is the way for me.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I bought an EGO blower 5 or 6 years ago and was impressed with it, then bought their multi-tool with a hedge trimmer. I live on a lake and have a few wooded lots we cut trails through. The hedge trimmer has been a beast cutting through vines and underbrush. Around 3 years ago, I bought the 16" EGO chainsaw. It had issues, so I returned it. Then about 6 months later, I read an article about assembly problems with the original EGO chainsaws, so decided to give it another try. I've been using the new one two years or so, and it's been a solid chainsaw. Have several EGO Tools and have used for years. They are the bomb. Keep one my tractor while mowing my small place to cut down low hanging limbs. It hasn't let me down. Batteries are crazy priced if you need to replace one.

The Still products are always solid choices.....I bought a MSA 140 C-B for clearing trails at the ranch and it works like a champ.

I like my Craftsman electric, 110v. I can make a few cuts, set it down. Go again when ready. No starting and stopping.
I had some tree damage from Saturday night. The Craftsman chews right through the wood. Very little maintenance.
Had it since the early 80s.

Yep, some of the old 120v power tools pack some serious punch. The new battery stuff is really great and I would love to have a full complement including a portable table saw, miter saw, worm drive, SDS drill, chainsaw, etc. but I just use what I already have. My little 46 lb. Honda eu2000i lets me work with them, far from the house and it runs all day on one gallon of gas. Marc

The best battery powered tools are Milwaukee Fuel.
I use them 20 days a month. They are the best I have ever had.
When we were building the house, my Plumber and Electrician/HVAC subs all had Milwaukee Fuel. That was 12 people, total. The Plumber has been in business 30 years. The Electrician/HVAC guy has been in business 40 years. They all told me they have owned every brand of cordless tools over the years, and Milwaukee Fuel has been the best they've ever had. X2 . I have been using Milwaukie fuels product for 3 years now and they have not let me down.

Been using gas saws for over 40 years. I’ve gone from Stihl to Echo. If I have to buy another, I’ll look at electric.

Stihl ... no question, hands down, nobody else even close. Yep, I've got several different ones, gas, corded, big, little, Husq (Jon), Makita, blah, blah, blah, Husq rancher, Stihl farm boss, Makita's 67cc rental, ..., I have a dozen saws for a thousand reasons.
Then one day I got my wife a little bitty Stihl for her birthday ... and we've never looked back.
That little Stihl goes out on the job more than all the other saws put together.
Because the battery is only being used when you pull the trigger it lasts a long, long time.
... and that little bitty "pico" chain is so thin that it uses far less power than the other models I've used.
Yes, it is expensive - but oh man is it ever worth it.
If I was doing once a year trimming up and I didn't want to spent the Stihl money, then I'd probably say Dewalt is second choice, ... but believe me when I say it is a very distant second.
Oak, pine, sweet gum, cedar, ... doesn't matter - I have over a dozen to choose from but that little Stihl always goes along for the ride.
BTW - 3 yrs of regular heavy use and we are just now needing to replace the original battery - my Dewalt doesn't do half the work and I've already replaced the batter three times.
Last word - get an extra chain or two ... get the heavier batter if you can afford it (but even the little amp one does great), hard wood is harder on all batteries than soft wood.
Just my opinion.

Stihl is the best battery operated chainsaw
Milwaukee for the win, I can use their batteries for other tools.
Until Stihl make a packout set, drill, impact, impact driver, hackzall, ect
Milwaukee for the win, that’s not an opinion, look up the reliability reports and available tool choices.
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

I have a 12 inch Ryobi 18 volt that I use a lot. Biggest thing I have cut with it was a 13 inch pine that was dead right next to where I was putting a cabin, the tree wa still solid but took it down easy enough. Bought it mostly for use around the house but have cut a couple cords of firewood with it over the last 4 years. So far so god with it. The firewood I cut is small enough I do not have to split it and usually before it runs out of battery with a 4AH battery it outlasts my work session at least until I take a break.
I was thinking Still but went Ryobi since I already have numerous batteries that work with it
I have to use electric with the defib so there is that considerations as well. Hey still getting stuff done

If I need to cut small stuff up to about 2" I just get out the sawzall. I have a 9ah battery for it that lasts long enough for most jobs. Larger then that it is time for the gas powered Echo.

I’ve worn out 3 Stihls but won’t ever wear out another one. The last one I bought had the snap caps instead of the screw on caps for gas mix and bar oil. The gas one wouldn’t stay on. The dealer sent it back to Stihl who returned it to me saying I must have screwed it up. I called and they refused to acknowledge that they had a bad product. Since then, I’ve had 3 Echos without a problem.

We even used it in a firewood business for a few years. I think he still has it.

My Farm Boss has to be nearly 20 years old. Still a beast of a saw. But…because it had put on weight over the years, I now have a lighter Stihl 251 with the gas and bar oil caps that Dave hates. I didn’t like them at first, but I have them figured out now, and prefer them to the old version on the Farm Boss. Until I finally figured the new caps out, I was cussing them for all I was worth.
And the little Stihl electric has the same new cap on the bar oil reservoir. My wife will never figure it out, but that doesn’t matter since she has no idea what bar oil is or what it does.
The only chainsaw I ever wore out was a Poulan. It leaked bar oil like crazy and ran ‘most’ of the time. I gave it away one day when it finally pushed all of my hot buttons. Was easier to give it away than throw it away, it being rather heavy.
