Recommending which pistol for YOU, no one can select the right pistol that fits your hands. I recommend going to a gun range where you can hold and feel a large variety of pistols and get what you like. Once you figure that out, then determine which carry method you plan to use- IWB, shoulder, waist band, etc.
I'm a huge Glock fan. I carry a G23 daily in 40 cal pushing 110 grain Lehigh Extreme Defense at 1400+ fps. Those rounds are very NASTY. I carry in a Comp Tac MTAC holster. It's the most comfortable IWB holster I've found. Chad and I are built alike. There are a few of us who are 6'0" 180lbs. In other words, we have a well-earned large belly. What do the other chubsters here use for a carry holster?

Gun wise all I can recommend is what I rotate.
Subcompact: Glock 43X MOS and Sig 365XL
Compact: Glock 19 in different configurations, Walther PDP, and Staccato C2.
I carry AIWB so the size difference isn’t really noticeable with a good belt and holster. If I’m dressed in a way that makes the weight of the gun matter, I carry the 43X or 365XL.
Belt is Kore and holster is Tenicor either Certum or Velo4. Also carry in a T1C Axis Elite sometimes. The sidecar adds size to it but the weight is so well distributed it’s very comfortable.
I feel like most common guns are reliable so pick your poison. Can’t express enough how important a good belt and holster are for me. Good point about the belt. Having a heavy duty belt makes a huge difference. I stumbled across 30dollargunbelt.com about 2 years ago, and now it's the only belt I wear. Only issue that I've had is that I lost some weight, and I'm on my last notch. Probably gonna have to get a new one.

G26 with Pearce extensions on the mags, tritium front sight, in a Comp-Tac MTAC hybrid holster (leather paddle w/ kydex frame). Super comfortable.
I'd really like to get my hands on a 43X, but it seems like it would be a little more prone to printing with the longer grip.

Do a search, there are probably 6 threads on this in the last few months.
Depending on the day, what I'm wearing, where I am going I carry one of the following:
Sig 365 XL Sig 365 Ruger LCP2 Shield PC
I like the Shield the best. Fits my hand, I shoot it the best, perfect grip angle, excellent trigger. Only downside is it only holds 10.

I'm a huge fan of the 365. I've tried a bunch (a couple of them are posted for sale now) and I just like the 365 the most. I also have an LCP Max. With the small pocket 380s, there's really no reason to not be carrying all the time.
For holster, Crossbreed is good but the best I've found is the StealthGear Ventcore for IWB. Breathable and about as comfortable as IWB can be. I agree on the best as well. I've become a huge fan of the Groove belt. It's rigid, but has a small amount of stretch that makes all the difference for IWB carry. For OWB you need something a little thicker, though. Lots of options out there for that.

P365 and Beretta Tomcat for me. The Tomcat used to be a good deep concealment option but they recently just about doubled the price and not sure it's worth it at the new price. The P365 with the new 17 round factory mags is hard to beat.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan
