The only thing about it, is a bearing click. It DOES run well, and there is no play in the headstock. Not an impossible task nor exepensive to replace...but it does not need replacing. I did buy it this way, used from Woodcraft.

I have one just like it. The variable speed dial makes it great. I’ll be turning with mine in a day or so. That’s a great midi-lathe. You can’t get a better one.

No problem at all. I’d be surprised if my BiL even contacted you. He made big noises about wanting one like mine, but when I asked him about it later, he was vague. It is understandable, in that he’d be starting from zero - knowing anything about how to use it.

When I bought that same model lathe, I was trying to sell the smaller one I had, the Jet 1014. The guy that sold me the 1221 bought my 1014. That was at a Woodcraft store in Dallas. You might talk to people at Woodcraft and Rockler. They know a lot more woodturners than this forum does, and retired woodturners might want your lathe. It is an excellent lathe.
