I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Wow, talk about a fuzzy ball of hot fury! Reminds me of an Elmer Keith anecdote, I believe from "Hell, I was There." He was running a trapline and came across a bobcat in one of his traps. Rather than spend a bullet, he picked up a large stick to whack it over the head. However, the stick was rotten and all it did was make the cat furious. When Elmer got back to town his clothes were shredded and he was covered with blood, having learned quite a lesson.

They got the cat in the bed of the pickup pretty slick. I'd like to see how they got him out!
When I was about 14 I had an opportunity to try and tame an ocelot (the cat belonged to JJ Armes, a fairly famous fellow who I knew well then and still do know). I spent about an hour in the cage with that cat and came to the inescapable conclusion that I was just never going to earn that cat's trust. Fortunately for me the cat's claws were plenty effective for conveying his thoughts on the matter and he never felt like he needed to use his teeth.

When I first got married, my wife and i were driving and saw a group of furry white kittens alongside a busy city street. She shrieked and begged me to try and rescue them. As a newlywed, I obliged her wish. A couple of the kittens scurried down a storm drain as I approached, but I was able to grab the last one firmly. That kitten took me to the woodshed! First, it dug its claws into my wrist, then sank its teeth into the flesh between my thumb and index finger. I shook it and tugged with not success in dislodging its bite. Finally I flung my hand to one side and it came off, but left an incision that required stitches, along with a tetanus shot.
31 years ago and I will never forget...and she has never again asked me to save another cat. Good thing - I won't.
With the damage from a kitten, I can't even imagine what a bobcat might do!
