I have one that my mother bought in 1967. She showed me how to grill, using that PK. I cooked on it for 25 years. Now, I just enjoy having it....(it's an old guy thing)

Not even an old guy thing…I really enjoy having stuff from up the family tree. I have my grandfathers and wife’s grandfathers old Penn fishing reels. Both that old maroon color, right next to each other on a shelf in my office

Have a couple buddies that have them. They mostly use them for steak comps but they love them. It would be hard for me to justify the price for such a small grill.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Yeah, they are currently running a pretty good sale. Mostly looking for something for burgers and steaks. Have a pellet pooper and a big griddle.

I have the original and love it. Got rid of my Vision ceramic after I got the PK. Got my brother one too to use at steak cookoffs so we'll have 2.
Added grillgrates to it as well. Now is a good time to buy

My uncle had one when I was growing up. Never knew it would be so popular today. We were poor growing up. A grill was expanded metal on top of bricks that were stacked up about 2 high and charcoal was on the ground.

My grandfather had one of these. No idea they would be so popular. I think it got tossed when my grandmother passed. I was still in college so didnt have a place of my own.
My grandfather swore by his.

My grandfather was renowned for his Armenian shish kebab….and had a Portable Kitchen from the 50’s. I still have it,but rarely use it…the replacement gets all the use. The PK is perfect for the skewers and heat control.

Forgive my ignorance but 500 bucks for a charcoal grill? What is magic about it? For one thing, my tight A$$ ain`t gonna spend that much $$ on a charcoal grill. But I will admit they are a great grill for what they do and will last for several generations. I`ve seen it happen. They are bullet proof unless you just abuse the hell out of it or drive a truck over it. I look for used one all the time, but haven`t got lucky.

Forgive my ignorance but 500 bucks for a charcoal grill? What is magic about it? heavy duty aluminum. Will last forver. Addd the Grill Grates and you can raise your temp throw on any type of meat you want and turn around until it is time to turn or take off. They will not flame up. Plus the grill marks are always so defined. We use mine at the deer lease and we cook our own steaks and then judge the grill marks on each others after. Pretty simple way of getting someone to cook thier own steak. I've had mine for about 5 years. you can cook a 1" ribeye in about 4 minutes. Fajitas maybe 4 min.
You have to remember, they might not be drinking as much as we are.

I really enjoy mine but would never pay what they are asking these days. Not much worse off with a Weber for way less $$
