Every year I am in need of copperheads for snake avoidance training. I pay big money for them. This year if I can get a 24 inch copperhead I'll pay $100 and I will drive to you. 713-530-9182 name is Wayne
Yes it is legal

Where are you located? I do pool service and repair for a living and find several per week in the spring. The Copper Canyon area is over run with them.

You guys must have a shortage of pigs. I used to have snakes everywhere, mostly rattlers. Then the pigs moved in and no snakes.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

I killed a 2 1/2 ft long copperhead last week while cleaning up the weeds in the chain link fence between my house and a neighbors wood fence ....very common here In Palestine, especially the way my street and adjoining streets are laid out. My lot is 2/3rds of an acre and bordered on one side by a 3 acre heavily wooded & 50' tall+ bamboo property & 100' +++ tall Pines ...we back up to an 8 acre plot of a failed house development but he keep his lot squeaky clean. At the foot of the hill where our street deadends, the property is not improved or cleared at all with pine and 50' tall bamboo, with a 5 acre plot and live creek that comes out of the 240 acre Davy Dogwood Park that is covered in pine, bamboo. The neighbors next door own all of the land at the bottom of the hill all the way to Hwy 79 or about 100 acres of unusable super heavy forested marsh land....but it's got a sewer system.... Biggest copperhead I've ever killed here was over 4ft/4 1/2' long and body thicker than any copperhead I've ever seen. Palestine Animal Control refused to try and catch him alive, but hauled off the carcass when I killed him with thrown bricks, 'cause the Animal Control guy would not allow me to use a shotgun in own yard. Couple years later my French Britainy got bit on the muzzle when she got too close out of curiosity, The Vet saved her life as she had never seen a copperhead at Lake Texoma where we had just moved from.
The big surprise was 2 years ago when the black Lab and I took our usual morning potty run down the steep hill to our east and discovered a dead Coral Snake about 4+ feet long, whose head had been run over. That one's body was almost the circumference of a toilet paper center roller. I heaved him back up the hillside pine forest where he'd been washed down by the previous nite's rain storm. The houses across the North/South FM street from my side of the FMstreet and back up to the 240 acre Davey Dogwood City Park all say that Coral Snakes are pretty common in the late spring, especially if you leave a porch light on to draw flying bugs
Down the hill on my street, from my house where the bamboo is allowed to grow freely on the 5 acre property we've encountered Coachwhip's that were very aggressive and very scary, especially when when the Lab wants to get close enough to smell them ...as their teeth are pointed in reverse.
As Rose Ann Rose Anna Danna always sez ..."It's alway sumthin"
FYI Palestine Police don't care if a snake is creating a problem ....but frown BIGTIME if you get caught carrying a handgun or shotgun off your property or discharge one on your own property to kill a snake Ron
It is TIME for Term Limits, cause Politicians are like childrens diapers and for the same reasons...Robin Williams "These are the times that try men's soul's"...Thomas Paine
