Heck yeah! We still use my Dad’s propane Coleman lanterns from the same era.

Me & a buddy are taking the kids to Arkansas in a couple of months at their request - must be doing something right if that’s what the youngest wants for his birthday.

Camping by itself kinda sucks. Paired with something else is a blast - hunting, fishing, 4wheeling, literally anything outdoors. Made this mistake taking my kids camping without activities and things to do - got set up in about an hour….now what? Lets go hike and explore….1hr later….now what?

I agree completely.. I like to camp, duck and dove hunt. Duck hunting nice, scout in the afternoon, camp, wake up and hop in boat and go. Dove is nice, shoot, cook, camp, wake up and shoot more,.

Shooting duck and eating duck..

I also don't like sleeping on the ground setting up a tent, I prefer my camper and memory foam mattress.

Camping, for me, always involves a separate primary purpose. I've never seen the point of pretending to be homeless for fun. Now put hunting or fishing in there as a reason I need to live like a homeless person, and I'm in.

Tolerance is the virtue of a man without conviction.

The end of the world began the day it was created, and life is a sexually transmitted terminal disease.

Wife and I left Liberty Hill COE Park on Thursday morning. Camped there for 3 days and had a fine time. We like the park and it’s close to home. We just relaxed and rode bikes all over the park. She has an electric bike, but I have a people powered one and had less fun on the uphill parts.

The park wasn’t crowded at all, but probably is on the weekend. Weren’t many boats launched, but from the action at the fishing pier and marina, the crappie are biting.

Now that I’m home again, the relaxation is over. Had to till up the wife’s vegetable garden, but had to deal with plugged carb jets on the tiller. Then to the back of the place to chainsaw my way along the fence line to see where the visiting cows got past the fence. Then fix the fence. Was a lot more fun at Liberty Hill.

Hiking is another one for me. I'm not going to hike, just to hike. There needs to be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Hiking to a good duck hunting spot, it needs to be a spot you can't get to by boat either. And if I hike up a mountain, I want to be able to ski down (first tracks even better), and not a mountain where I can take a lift.

Pontoon boats make great crappie boats, you just need a spot lock trolling motor and livescope. I been thinking about camping in my duck hunting boat, find a good spot in the afternoon scouting, and just camp there. Then you do not have to get up early to beat Barney to your spot.

Haven't camped on the ground in many moons. . I would do it in a Heartbeat, Wifey, no way. This is my camper. It does have slides which is nice. Ain't like my old Prevost Motorcoach by a mile. [Linked Image]

Only camping I do now is during deer season in sam houston national forest.
Have a huge tent and queen size air mattress. Been telling the wife we need to camp at lake, but she likes the cabins with a bathroom and showers. She's too damn spoiled.

That’s a nice ride, I would hate to change a flat on that thing.

BOBO the Clown, tell me about your hot tent setup. I am soon (hopefully didn't miss my window - need it for late May) purchasing a new tent and may go that direction. Seek Outside has my attention.
