Headed out tomorrow for a Friday college visit for my youngest.
Booked Home2 Suites. Just because it’s on my Hilton app.

Dinner suggestions for tomorrow? Maybe lunch on Friday?

This daughter is difficult, the youngest. Have already toured Kansas, Oklahoma State, OU, Arkansas, Ole Miss,TCU. Down to last 2. A&M and TT.

If you have time, swing by Burdett and Son Outdoor Adventure Shop just across the street at 1055 Texas Ave. A decent supply of both new and used firearms to check out.

Coco Loco on southwest parkway and Welch. Or, Martin's bbq in Bryan.

Call the corps of cadets center and ask for someone to give you a tour. There is always a cadet on duty for cadet escort service where someone can escort your daughter 24/7 should she not feel safe walking on campus.

Your timing is pretty good: spring break officially starts Monday 3/13, but unofficially it has already begun. By Friday traffic will be much less.

Mo's Irish Pub is walking distance from your hotel and the food is good. The wife and I have been there a couple of times and it is family friendly, especially during off-hours (no sporting event, before 10:00 Pm, etc).

Fuego and Las Palapas are good for mexican food and not far from you. Torchy's (pronounced torsh-ees) is just a little bit further and better imo. It is close to Burdette's if you want to browse their gun selection, but they close at 4:00.

If you want a hamburger joint, the best in town is Koppe Bridge on Wellborn. I like it better than the one on Harvey just for the ambiance, but both are good.

For a true TAMU experience hit the Dixie Chicken. The food is pretty good (burgers, chicken fried steaks, etc) and it is popular for students. Again, around spring break and off hours it will be family friendly.

If you have any other questions hit me up. My wife is a doctor (MD) at the student health center and both daughters are current students. If your daughter wants to ask them questions I'm sure they will be glad to meet her or chat/text.

Torchy's and Dixie Chicken, think FreeBird's Burritos started there too.

Torchy's started in Austin, but yes Freebirds started there.

For steak try Sodolak’s on Hwy 21 in Bryan.
Joe’s place in Wixon Valley for burgers and the like.

You gotta hit the Chicken for a cold beer and a burger. Be sure to go see the rattlesnake.

The Republic is the probably the nicest atmosphere restaurant there. Really good steaks, GREAT bourbon list, has that luxury steakhouse feel.

Christopher's is probably the best food there. He used to be the personal chef for President Bush (H.W.) and opened this restaurant a while back. Everything there is absolutely outstanding. This is the best steak in BCS.

Freebirds as mentioned is always good. I'm a huge fan of Wings & More as well. I try to eat there every time I'm there.

There’s a good Mexican food place in Downtown Bryan, sorry I don’t recall the name of it.

Casa Rodriguez, or Casa Rod for local name.

Calvery court for hotel, our favorite.

For lunch, Koppe Bridge on Welborne, great burgers and fries.

For breakfast, we like Hullabolu Diner, probably spelled it wrong but good breakfast, its where Texas Bucket List is filmed.

Lots of other places for dinner.

Dixi Chicken is a great student hangout to grab a beer and play dominoes but food sucks, plan on eating somewhere else.

Lots of fun in that town.

Kinda panicked. Was frustrated with traffic. Just pulled into Juanitas and had some fajitas. They were good. Wife had a 24 dollar margarita.

Y’all should head down to Northgate for a drink after dinner.
Go to Rough Draught, nice whiskey bar to hang out at and have a drink.

That’s where we went. North gate. The wife and daughter wanted crepes opposed to drinks. Crazy.

One thing that’s definitely different here is sorority and fraternity row. They’re kinda far from campus.

Only found two frats. Pike was 5 miles from campus.
