Amazon already does that.

So does Walmart, Home Depot, many others.

Maybe I'm trying to rationalize irrational thought processes, but I don't see how driving away your tax base makes any sense.

I think some folks give them more credit than they should.

The Walmart in Dallas, TX on US 75 and Midpark Rd. closed last year due to theft loss.

They are closing one here in Katy. Not sure the reason but can guarantee it isn’t because of theft.

I`ve seen several interviews with the local people about the closings. It`s always about trying to starve the black folk and some kind of racism. They keep putting people and policies in place in these towns that let this happen, so no sympathy from me.

I lived most of my life in my native state of Oregon -- the majority of it in the Rogue Valley down south. I watched what was once a vibrant and politically independent state -- "maverick" was the old term -- be eaten away by the cancer of urban progressive politics rammed down the throats of all by the Portland lib voters. Now they are trying to out-Kalifornicate Kalifornia and doing a devastatingly good job of it.
I miss my snow-covered Cascade Mountains, my salmon, kokanee and fresh Dungeness crab, but my once-beloved Oregon has otherwise become a nightmare.

I heard that Hearne was the first store closing. That was several years ago.

Drove 1800 miles around Oregon on my honeymoon in 2018. Really enjoyed Bend and then drove from Bend to Crater Lake and on to Bandon in one day, driving through the Rogue River area I told my wife, I'd like to come back here and fish the river. We spent 5 days going up the coast from Bandon to Astoria. Fished and crabbed out of Coos Bay. Fresh Dungeness is incredible. Ling Cod isn't shabby either.

We were on a trip in 2018 with a large group and stayed downtown across street from Courthouse. It was pretty nice at the time, although there were a few "marches" that took place during the week of our stay, nothing particularly concerning. We walked all around downtown, took a few tours around region, went to coast, etc. Beautiful except for the homeless camps that seemed to be strung along the freeways to and from airport. Unfortunately, that same area of our hotel became the scene of the worst parts of the protests that began soon after and looking at photos it appears the NO GO ZONE was right across the street. I will never go back...

Is anyone shocked? I love these super woke companies and their hypocrisy. They support and push liberal politicians and policies and then pull the plug when the inevitable happens. I feel bad for the good people who are going to be impacted. However, if you support the politics that brought this about, then I don’t feel bad for you.

Dallas, Houston and Austin are not far behind.

About 7 years ago, I spent 4 months in the Seattle area. I saw a lot of different places in the military but never saw anyplace that loaded with fruits and flakes. Most memorable was a small boy with 2 middle age, well dressed, women and calling both of them mommy. I saw that more than once.

I ate several times at a small diner. A waitress finally asked where I was from. I said Texas. She got nervous and asked if I had a lot of guns and if I was carrying one.

Odd place.

It’s a complete slap in the face to the community/city/state when a Walmart justifies closing all its locations due to the financial burden caused by the aforementioned. Portland, Oregon should be ashamed. You have failed your citizens

"Walmart plans to close its supercenter location just south of Richardson at 13739 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, on March 30. The location will be converted into a market fulfillment center for online delivery and pickup items, Walmart spokesperson Charles Crowson said.
“We see the conversion of this store to a market fulfillment center as an excellent opportunity to expand how customers shop with us through our growing online and pickup services,” Crowson said via email."

Yeah, I heard about the one in Hearne some years ago.

Don’t see many mom and pops places risking their life saving to open a store in a dump.

Libturds want to bring all of society DOWN to their level, without even trying to get their followers to just do better at being human. When you give them everything for free, let them do all of their drugs in the street, crap in the street, encourage homeless camps, encourage protests/riots, why would they change their lives? We are all fools, they have all of us paying the bill for them just because we get up and go to work everyday the same way they get up and prepare for crime! They expect us not to have negative opinions and views of them, well then don't do the stupid shaat that makes me think that.

That would be the second time it’s closed in a decade or so. They [censored] it down around 2010-2012 and opened the one on Forest Ln. A few years later they reopened the Midpark location.
