Shoot as many as you can and buy the one that fits you the best. I am sure you will get a wide range of answers on this one.

That is still a long ways off. You should have plenty of time to try out some bows and get a good idea of what you like best.

I have owned two Hoyt's and have really liked both of them. The first was a Hoyt smoke and then my Deviator. As the others have said shoot many different ones and find the one that feels good in your hands and one that you feel very confident with. I am just getting back into Bow's after a 6 year lay off and it looks like a lot has changed in those 6 years.

I use a Parker Field Grade compound with 75% let off (6 years old now). I tried many bows before I tried this one. It just felt good when I shot it. Noise, % of let off and speed are the 3 things I would consider. I also like single cam bows. Like everyone said go to as many shops as you can and shoot as many bows as you can. Most bow shops will allow you to shoot them on the spot. Parker, Mathews & Martin are top of the line bows. But them come with a price. It sounds like you have a nice bow. Are you sure you need a new one? Will you be selling your bow?

I was shooting a "box bow" I had it all tuned up and had upgraded alot of items on it. Decided I needed to upgrade. Went with the x force. Is it faster, yes but truth is I shot a little better with my first bow, More forgiving I think. I got alittle carried away with speed. At the time it was about the fastest thing out there. Alot of bows pushing the 300fps know. Find one that is easy to shoot. The x force is fast but rough on the hand. If I had to do over I would look harder at Mathews, maybe their mission label. New strings are cheap, by the time you buy bow, rig one out new your looking at 900-1000 bucks.

It has taken me years to find what I like and works for me best, looking back over the past years I don't think a person can find "THE " bow for him in a period of a year. I finally settled with shooting PSE X Forces, after shooting Mathews, Hoyt, and BowTech, amongst others. I have had my three X Forces since March and that is the longest I have had a bow in a long while, and even though I have shot all the 09 bows I still keep shooting my 08 XForce SS, XForce 6, and X Force 7, with my X Force SS being my absolute favorite one.

I had a mathews legacy and decided to upgrade. I shot alot of different bows and ended up buying the alphamax 32 yesterday. Great bow. But you need to shoot as many as you can to see what is right for you.

What if the bow you can afford isnt one they have

Yep. And a good shop will let you do it.

if you have that short of a draw look at Elite GT500 with the cuda cams or mathews passion(IN CAMO) also the Misson line has a few shorter DL bows
