Do not know how stiff or lack there of DUI's laws are? What is obvious is that judges, prosecutors/DA's need to hand out stiffer penalties and sentences especially for repeat offenders!!
The reason they don't is they are scared $hitless it'll happen to them. In my opinion 1st DUI =1yr suspension of DL. 2nd =1yr in county lockup. 3rd =10yr prison. Absolutely no reason to let these losers keep risking killing people.

Childhood friend has received 6 dwis over the years, no wrecks or hurting people, he just got 11 years in the pen, he deserves it, 50 years old

One of my dads buddies had 10 of them. He was a very successful salesman and had a lot of medals from Vietnam. He was a bad drunk but I always liked hunting with the guy. I remember dropping him off at the road from a deer lease and he was so drunk he couldn’t remember if he had called his wife or girlfriend to pick him up. They were both named Linda and he fell down several times yelling, “Which bitch are you?” He got some money when his dad was killed in WW2 and made a pile of money after Nam. He died with nothing left. His money kept him out of jail. He was a fun guy but took a swing at me when I was 25. That ended badly. RIP you crazy bastard.

I know someone that had 3 and the third one was a felony. Didnt do jail time. Thats been 20 years ago.
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR

It becomes a state felony after so many and you lose your license for years. At least that's what I've seen with folks I knew that had this issue.

As much as I dislike him, I don’t want him dead. Maybe a year in jail would straighten him out.
He works for Tesla in Austin, so you guys better watch out if you own one. I don’t think he programs the self driving program, so there’s a positive.
