This happened in Japan. If I had not seen it, I wouldn’t believe it.

Wonder what he did to hack it off like that.
A clear conscience is often the sign of a fuzzy memory.

Those guys are better using their boards as weapons than the fellow that went after Rittenhouse.
Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

Dude is still wearing a mask. OUTSIDE. That's why the pig attacked. I recall my thoughts back in the late 80s and early 90s about how Japan was going to take over the world. Should have looked more deeply.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Dude is still wearing a mask. OUTSIDE. This was not uncommon in Japan for decades, and some other parts of Asia. It is a common courtesy or respect to other people to wear a mask if you have a cold, flu, etc.

I am with Michael W. on this in wondering what happened between the snowboarder and boar previously. I am not even suggesting the snowboarder did anything intentionally wrong, only that something happened and the boar thinks something needs to be done about it.
The possibility is there for this to be a truly unprovoked attack, but in the grand scheme of things, usually attacks correspond with humans trying to do something to the hogs, or getting too close and being a threat to the hog.

In the Animal World there are individuals that are just Bat $hit CRAZY......just like humans. We like to think that a human did 'something' (no matter how obscure) to provoke the animal or somehow cause it to think it must react...and that if we only look deeper we will see the animal had a 'reason'. I reject that. I concede that in most cases....something like this attack IS the result of some interaction (even if not immediately understood). I can even cut some animals a little 'slack'....recognizing they are often moved by baser instincts. But that pig came from WAY behind the person(s) it attacked, then seemed to want a little piece of everyone. A person would need to be mighty creative to understand or justify a reason for that. Hunt that nut case down and kill it.

This partly explains the caution exercised by the trapper in the "Hog hunt, Japanese Style" thread below.

Dude is still wearing a mask. OUTSIDE. This was not uncommon in Japan for decades, and some other parts of Asia. It is a common courtesy or respect to other people to wear a mask if you have a cold, flu, etc. Asia has terrible air pollution, thanks to mostly China and India- which prompts a lot of folks to wear masks. All winter, we've been totally covered up in Chinese air pollution that blows in from the west across the Yellow Sea.
