On my recent search I ended up going with a new 16 inch Makita off ebay instead of the Stihl based on a better bang for the buck over the stihl with extra battery. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334497311792
Price for the kit and extra 5ah batteries seemed awful cheap, but I did some online CSI on the company and great reviews as long as your not buying refurbished from them.

Recently I loaned the battery powered Stihl to my neighbor. Now he says he has to have one, though he may not go with Stihl. Since he has a lot of Ryobi 18V batteries, he might go with Ryobi. I’d caution him against that, but will just keep quiet. I don’t do quiet real well though…

40v Rhyobi vs. 18v Rhyobi big difference!

I have an 18v tree saw. it does pretty good for it's size. a 40V will have plenty of power.

I’m sure the 40v is a beast. I’ve been very happy with my 18v chainsaw and pole saw for the last couple of years using them both at home and at the lease.

I have a 56 volt EGO and lease buddy has a dewalt (which is better in my opinion). They sure are easier to start than a two stroke saw that has been sitting for a while.

That wasn’t a shot guys….

The 40volt Rhyobi hedge trimmer made me a believer…. Then I borrowed a chainsaw…. Then I went with Milwaukee. My tools get used more than the average home owner or Rhyobi would be just fine

EGO

This is one of the few times I went cheap. I already had Ego stuff here at home and all I need the chain saw for is trimming shooting lanes and light work. Give me one less thing to pull on to start and I'm all over it. If I was doing some serious wood cutting, I'd want something more robust. I had to learn to keep the chain tight, it loosens up, then will jump off when it bumps off of something small. My hunting partner has Stihl Battery powered. I'd cut a pile of fire wood with that, no hesitation. Light work, Ego.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

A tip to improve on these small battery saws. Some of them can take a replacement Oregon bar that uses a .050 gauge chain instead of the thin .043 chain. Stronger bar, stronger chain, more chain options, and not as likely to jump off the track. An Oregon bar and .050 chain was about $20 on amazon. The same oregon bar I had on my dead Ryobi also fits my new Makita.
