This is a good topic. How do y’all feel about a small turbine thrown in the mix to add to the charging capacity?

Lots of good info here. I will continue using a generator tied into my electrical panel. It can run everything but the AC and I have a couple portable units if that occurs. I don't know what size generator you use, but look into a soft-start kit and you may be able to run your central A/C. My 5,000 watt will support my 3 ton system pulls 2.9kW once the starting surge is under control.
A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I can run everything else though which is just fine.

I just can’t see spending all the money for a room of batteries that have a life expectancy plus the cost of the panels for something that might be used twice a year. I don’t care what the price of propane is. It’s virtually nothing compared to a solar/battery system. What if you can’t get propane

Good point! I never did get the propane delivery from that so-called supplier named Pinnacle.. Finally fired them. But, Bradybuck’s point is something that matters. Get enough propane storage and a supplier you can depend on.
Oddly enough, the more this power downtime happens, the better we get in dealing with it and the aftermath.
