Defiance is the only one I've seen with a big increase. That more has to do with it sounds like they were going broke and the new owners had to jack them up to survive. I'm going to be interested to see how Defiance does after this. Meanwhile ARC is releasing a new action that is $899.00

That a why I just blueprinted my Rem 700 action instead. (Plus no one wanted to buy it.) Easy decision.

I have been getting them from Terminus, I really like them. I will be starting on a 28 Nosler, 6GT, and 7 PRC, and 22 Creed soon, all on Terminus actions. Terminus was always middle of the road on price and still are. The last Defiance I bought was at old pricing, probably my last.

Not greed, I can assure you. Not much profit in a “custom”/lower quantity action at $2000 after considering expenses.

I just checked Bat. The action that's in my .338 now costs what the entire rifle cost without the Nightforce NXS. I bought it a long time ago but wow...

Wow. I wonder what my old 98 Kaiser actions are worth? I even have a magnum length Santa Barber action left. Brand new engraved model.

Stiller hasn’t gone up nearly that much. Wonder who makes bolts for Defiance as that may be part of the increase. Does PTG make the bolts for all Curtis Zermatt etc?

Sure you could...don't buy Defiance...I gave you a $900 option...rarely are they cheaper than that even before all this mess.
Y'all act like EVERYTHING hasn't went up the last few years...look around....you want to play? Then you pay...

I got this NIB Sako action last year for $450. Should've gotten the other three as well. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-19403-380644-sako2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-19403-380645-sako1.jpg)

What exactly did they do to the action? Did they do any bolt upgrades? Per the website This is for Remington 700 action blueprinting, using PTG reamers and bushings. This is not single point style. We true the receiver face and threads, lug abutments, lap the lugs and true the bolt face. They are also fluting the bolt itself and also threading for a bolt knob They are also threading the barrel to match the receiver, fluting the barrel, and chambering as well. Ill be using a barrel nut.

It is my understanding that you have to remove the extractor to properly true the bolt face, replace the 700 extractor with a new one, or convert it to an external extractor since the aftermarket 700 extractors are junk and the factory ones are not available. Not hating, just curious.

You dont have to, I ground this tool and stoned it very sharp, and it will reach right behind the 700 extractor and get it done. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-10707-380715-b10f555c_d1bf_4d36_ac00_49fc7a41417b.jpeg)

A trued up 700 action still won’t compare to a Bighorn action. I loved my bighorn enough that I am gonna get a 7 prc built on one
