Rhodes scholar material right there. Monkey's were worth $5K if he had a buyer. I have a crazy client that has weird pets. She has a little monkey named Charlie in her yard along with a wallaby and a kangaroo named Roxy. She said you can get all the monkeys you want fairly cheap but they are the imported monkeys and they're all HIV positive. She said if you want a non HIV positive monkey that was born in the US you have to fork over big bank. I wonder where the monkey from the zoo came from?

Yes I do, him and/or his associates. Zoo hasn't had issues in decades, then 3-4 in last 2+ months. Yes, I think they are connected to a group of fools, thugs. Some copycatting going on around US, heard NYC had a South American owl cut out of its enclosure early Fri. morning and it escaped and was seen in Manhattan yesterday. Could be some new gang pranks or intiation type crap. Dallas Zoo bordering Dallas/Oak Cliff isn't exactly in the best area of the city and guessing similarly in NYC Zoo. Not hearing this going on in San Diego, Fort Worth zoos....

There's a very large trade in wild animals into the United States that are purchased by Laboratories for testing. Pretty much every single monkey caught in the wild has HIV, it's harmless to them. How it made it into the human population is a matter for conjecture and debate. It was only harmful once it made the jump into the human population. Monkeys also frequently carry a type of herpes that is fatal to people in a few days.
