I was on the border of Duval and Webb County and saw a black cat with a long tail with white tip......Thoughts as to what it was?
-Not a Mountain Lion Size
-Not a Bobcat
-Seems like it could have been a Jaguarundi, but they seem rare
-Looked to be around 35-50lbs
It was 200-225 yards from me and was walking away when I spotted it driving to the blind.

Jarmundi would be the most reasonable observation

Jaguarundi’s, Coatimundi’s & Ocelot’s are normal in S. Texas. Doesn’t mean you’ll see them regularly. But, sightings are not out of the question.

We hunt the area. Lots of bobcats and in spots lots of big feral cats. My money is on feral cat and your perception of the distance and size being off.

Also I don’t know how long you got to look at it but over 200 yards, quick look headed away assuming no binoculars. I’d throw anything else black and white in there javelina skunk or badger.

Had time, maybe 3-4 minutes. Used binoculars. Found cat [censored] and had a good point of reference as he was next to a tree/bush on the fence line. Stepped it off at 205 where I think he was.
