It doesnt seem crazy to me as its just a metal tube with pieces of metal inside it, not a rocketship. But have to wonder what the implications are and if it invalidates your Form 4 in any way.

Baffles would need to be re-worked. Most silencers are not serviceable and would have to be cut apart. Juice may not be worth the squeeze. Cheaper to buy new.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan

Easy, drillbit down the middle I've heard of guys boring cans out, but it's not going to be great. The geometry of baffles, their spacing, etc, is all designed to accommodate an ideal operating condition. The Omega 300, for example, is probably designed around a supersonic 30 caliber cartridge. Bore the baffles out by another .05" and you're likely drastically affecting the way gas flows in there. So not only will it just be "meh" on a 9mm, you've also drastically reduced its performance on .30 cartridges. Aaaaaaand by the time you pay a couple hundred for that, you're already like 1/3 of the way to a decent pistol suppressor.

I'm sure my drilling will be precise and accurate on my $1K can. I suspect the drill would grab onto the baffle and chunk off pieces. Hard pass.

I wouldn’t understand why you would want to if they make 9mm suppressors that you can shoot 30 cal with.

No you cant! ATF has stated changing the silencers caliber is manufacturing a new can and requires a form 1 and another 200.
I think its dumb but its in writing from atf

Drill the end cap out and you can once. Now your results may vary. Hybrid 46 is a fine suppressor Buzz

The NFA in general is dumb. And a suppressor isn’t a “firearm”, so including them in the National “Firearms” Act is dumb as well.

I know a form 1 has to have the caliber put on it and you have to be within a reasonable tolerance of that...So overbearing a 30 cal can to essentially a 35 cal would be far beyond reasonable clearance.

ECCO machine can re-core many suppressors. We can replace any & all parts except for the main tube/primary tube segment, and we do have some pretty trick solutions for cracked or catastrophically damaged tubes as long as the engraving is in-tact! https://www.eccomachine.net/ecco-machine-services/No you cant! ATF has stated changing the silencers caliber is manufacturing a new can and requires a form 1 and another 200.
I think its dumb but its in writing from atf I'm not changing the caliber, I'm just giving it more clearance to prevent baffle strikes.
