I was reading about that earlier this week, which led me to two exposes by Rolling Stone (not the best outlet, but…) about drug use,rape and murders by Delta Force guys at Fort Bragg. Soldiers murdering each other in Fayetteville. Just hard to 8magine. Something like 40 murders on and around the base over a pretty short period.

Hope it is not true, we lived on base for 2 years back in the early 60's.

Military members come from society. Society has rapist, drug users, and murderers. It only makes sense a few of them find their way into an organization as large as the USArmy and the special forces, especially when you take into account how watered down todays standards are. Wish and hope it’s not true either but that probably won’t get me far.

The UCMJ won't be kind to them if found guilty.

If you're going to mention it then you should do it correctly.

The Army is an organization made up of primarily people from ages 18-35. As you move along the spectrum of how high speed a job is in the Army you find yourself more and more with guys who do things over the top... whether that's weight lifting, schools, military training, or doing some sort of illicit activity. I am not surprised at all by this discovery... I will never forget at Ranger school when the newly tabbed specialists from Ranger Regiment told me how excited they were they would no longer have to pee for a drug test if they did not want to... my buddy has spent half his career with Tier 1 organizations in the Army talks about how when Soldiers in those organizations screw up it is never something stupid and small, they are too smart to get caught doing the little dumb stuff, its always something big and out of this world.... When I was in the MP’s at Camp Pendleton, back in the early 70’s, I came back to the barracks early one morning, off shift from some guard gate. They wouldn’t let me in the MP barracks till the drug dogs were finished. They arrested, if memory is correct, 13 MPs. I didn’t care. Just wanted to hit the rack.

They found a girl tied up in a barracks room closet one time when I was stationed on Ft Hood. Not one of my soldiers.
