Reading this and thinking about my dad reaching across the dinner table, we heard a sound of something hitting the hardwood floor and he started bleeding from his back down his arm. I piece of shrapnel from a N. Vietnamese rocket had worked its way to the surface and cut its way out. That’s a thread worthy post, but this one just isn’t. Spit some tobacco juice on it. Is your dad still around? I’d like to meet him. Sadly no. He got an extremely rare type of liver cancer in 2009 that killed him in a few months. I got a letter a couple of years ago from the DOD that said everyone diagnosed with it had served in Vietnam and that they added him to the wall in Washington.

How deep is the splinter? It’s deep down in the abyss. Guys have had some clever tricks so far. Was using a snake bite kit for the suction and I’m confident if it was near the surface, it would’ve come out. Very good idea whoever that was.

Lol! Man y’all are a tough crowd, the title of the thread was meant to be overly dramatic, trying to be humorous.
Don’t mind a good ribbing though.

Dusty, you should have taken that pic with the splinter closer to the camera so it would look bigger. Do it right like the 3' rattle snake that looks 10' or the 3-pound bass that gets passed off as 15. I did enjoy the thread.

That ain't no crippling thorn. Man card on probation. My Grand Daddy said something close, “ I’ve had worse cuts on the head of my d!ck, toughen up boy. “

And thanks for not having photo proof! Tougher man than I will ever be for going through that and admitting it too!

I don’t know if the mesquite or the locust is worse but I hate em both. Locust is worse. At least a mesquite tree makes terrific lumber and terrific cooking wood. Locust trees are the plant version of the feral hog.
