This is Sandhill Crane nesting territory. We have lots of them around all summer and into the fall.
But unlike further south there is no season for them here.
However, we do get to enjoy their presence.
I have a lot of photos of them, in flight, in fields, and on their nesting grounds with chicks.
But I am in the process of going through my photos and organizing them. Thus far these are the only photos I have of them that I have organized, the rest will have to wait until later.

Notice the dancers in the flock?
It's quiet the show, they jump and flap their wings and run about like crazy things. Not what I'd call graceful, but it is entertaining.
