Usually do a ham - but this was first year ever - we've had a beef ribeye roast! Best part was, the now 'adult' kiddos (and new son-in-law trained chef) did ALL the dinner-prep work, cooking, serving! All's the wife and I had to do was to kick-back & play with our new baby grandson and take a couple of pics once in a while... Started out like this: He carved it up, salted overnight, then prepped the roast to go in the oven: While we all snacked on fresh hors d'oeuvres my daughters prepared: (in the back - smoked salmon w/caper-cream-cheese, rosemary-almond-butter spread, venison sausages): and he Roasted it to perfection: And then we feasted - sorry didn't get pics of the amazing sides: / serving / presentation- couldn't wait to dig in... (cheddar roasted potatoes, green-been fresh-fried-onion casserole, mushroom-onion gravy, & roasted brussel-sprouts) Then stuffed ourselves to the brim afterwards with homemade desserts (except the Buckey's fudge): And still have a few pounds of the roast left-over: (it was 12 lbs! - for 10 adults!) This is the leftovers: Yeah - It was amazing, a hell-of-a-deal for $5/lb, and yeah, I could get used to this, and to being a 'grandpa' now . . .

Great job, and looks delicious. Congrats on the family help pitching in, and you getting more Papa time. This is my favorite sale time of the year, and the wife and I load the freezer with $4-5 ribeyes.
Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

Thanks for the positive posts fellers! - but all the credit has to go to the son-in-law, HE nailed it while I sat on my haunches! We gobbled down the leftovers for lunch today - me eating half of mine cold because it even tasted amazing right out of the fridge! BTW, I saved the rib-bones all for myself to snack on later this week:

Just read this thread, congrats Sir on a great meal and with a meal like that it is time for the kiddos to cover the holiday cooking duties, you and the wife I imagine enjoyed the grand kid while they worked.
Now I have dog slobber on my lap. The dog saw the pics on the screen and was really wanting those bones in the bag.
