Had a white elephant gift exchange tonight. Wife and I ended up with the following. I'm not a big whiskey guy, so I don't know if this is good whiskey or not.

I don't know anything about the 1835 Bourbon , but the 1792 Small Batch, is a decent pour.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

But free is drinkable!

There’s plenty of great, not good like weller green label….. Texas Whiskey. You just have to go look for it.

There is no doubt IronRoot and Milam & Greene are doing great things in this state and they are not the only ones.

I would have to agree, I am sure I have not tried them all...lol

I drink a lot of whiskey, just not blended. I really dislike a peanut or a cask flavor after taste as well.

Weller/Buffalo Trace are my favorites. But I am really hating the bourbon game. Been fighting this for over 10 years and still getting worse.

I will not get started on that....really really is aggravating on how some of the bourbons get "allocated".

Texas whiskey is growing up a bit just not as good as Kentucky bourbon . garrisons is getting better and ironroot is good. Treaty oak is ok but sourced. But others Like luckenbach road are shoe polish.

This right here.

Yes, this is very true. Just wondering if I got mixing whiskey or sipping whiskey. Sounds like I got a bit of both.

It's been a long time since having 1835, I vaguely remember it being good to me, guess if it was good I would have kept buying it. 1792 is a good pour at it's price point, you also can usually find it on the shelf.

I don't like any of the Smoke Wagon products, reminds me a lot of Texas bourbons, super spicy.

I agree Texas whiskey sucks, its like its flavored with whiskey flavoring that just hangs around like mouthwash.

My taste buds usually like Whistle Pig regular 10 year or most anything Russell Brothers

Buddy got a bottle as a gift of the SW Uncut Unfiltered gold label. He said it is awesome. I've never seen it before.

I love that HH 7yr! Went to the store at lunch and they did have the SW gold label. I passed on it. And they got in this 1792 but won't be for sale until tomorrow. I've never had any of the 1792's and will pass on this hoping they get a better shipment in tomorrow.

Once but I passed as it doesn't do a whole lot for me. It's not bad just not a craving
