Looking for some preserve bird hunts to introduce my wife to upland hunting. We are out of the Waco area. Do you all have any suggestions on who does good preserve bird hunts in the area? Open to around College Station as well. Thanks!

I know of two that I’ve hunted.
1. Top Flight in Columbus- Hwy 71 -was a member for 12 years 2. Walton Ranch in Navasota -was a member there 3 years.
Both fun. Both guided or bring your own dog. Owners at both places are really good people.

In the College Station area is Tonkaway Ranch. I have been there a few times to shoot, good folks.

it's a little jump for you but Santa Anna Hunting Area, west of Brownwood is very good. Good dogs, birds fly great and the people are great. http://www.sahainc.com/

Another vote for Walton Ranch in Navasota! I’m heading there in the morning to put my Brittany on quail. Check them out online.

I went to Greystone Castle in October with my Dad and brother...it was a lot of fun. Food was amazing, great dogs and good action on birds. Accommodations were very nice. We did the mixed bag hunt with quail, chukar, and pheasant. About an hour west of Ft. Worth, so not too far from Waco.

Do the birds fly well at the place in Columbus? The last time I hunted pheasants at one of these types of outfits they pretty much just went straight up.

I like Columbus...they play Polka music on the radio there.
Greystone Castle is really nice.

Great place, great guides. Not inexpensive. True on price. I take my own dogs so have never used a guide - I guess that helps a lot.
