My baby girl killed her first deer yesterday morning. Made a perfect shot at 100 yrds and didn’t hesitate when I said “shoot him”. Bang flop and she was/is high on life right now. All this little girl has talked about for the last few years is killing her first deer, special day.

Sat evening my youngest Son dropped his 3’rd deer and biggest buck, a trophy for him that I will Euro and put on the wall because he wants me to. Another 100 yrd bang flop as soon as I said “shoot him”. That boy has been patient waiting on his little Sister to get her first, and was/is also high on life right now. Most importantly he is learning how to clean his own deer, no more Dad doing it for him. He stepped up and made me proud gutting/skinning/quartering his deer. Made the 5 1/2 hr drive home and went straight to the kitchen. They wanted fried backstrap and life is short, so tired or not we’re gonna do it.

Thank you Lord for this weekend, I’m a grateful man and looking forward to the next trip….and so are they. grin

Thanks for looking.

Next trip she will be shooting her own/more comfortable deer rifle. I wanted all 4 of my kids to kill their first deer with my old ugly Savage battle axe 243. Mission accomplished, and hopefully something they will hold special after I’m gone.

My boy is still loving that old Ruger 243 that I bought from Mr Angus here on this forum, that he bought in the early 80’s. Took him to the range and said I want 4 rounds in this heart area on the deer target. He did just that, and said “Dad I’m ready let’s go”. clap

I'm down with that thread. grin

My Son (on both deer) said "Dang Dad, the insides are like jello...I see a tiny entrance wound but it's like a grenade went off inside."

I said "Yes Son, that's why I like to use Silvertips on deer." roflmao

He got to see what it looks like with his own hands when all that "vital soup" poured out and hit the ground. clap

Good luck Sir. My only Grandson is 2 and stays pissed off, gonna be a few years before I can put a gun in his hands, but can't wait. clap

I hope your Grandson gets one, and I hope he doesn't SNORE in the blind like my little girl roflmao I kept adjusting her head sleeping on my arm, hoping to create a better air path, nothing worked for more than 5 minutes. Son kept complaining about the noise, I gave up and said to let her be. No idea where she get's that from. roflmao At the end of the hunt it didn't matter, wind was in our favor.

She wants the deer tail mounted under the Euro of her first deer, so that’s what’s gonna happen.

I'm proud, can only imagine how you feel. Been waiting on these pictures since you posted the girl with her own rifle.
It must be nice that boy cleaning his own. Couple years and he can do yours too.

I see that Ruger .243 is getting a workout, I'm glad it's see some action.

Happy for you and your family!
