Most of us have hit the 50% mark on this season's general deer season. What are some of the key hits, misses or takeaways you can share with us to help us all improve or learn?

I'll start off, have seen my 3 best bucks of the season when things had gotten slow during those sits, 1 morning and 2 late afternoon hunts. With that in mind, I will reiterate the importance of keeping focused and positive and patient while hunting.

1pm last Wednesday my nephew saw a big 8pt running and swung on him but then saw a big 10pt chasing him so moved sights to him and then saw a huge 12pt chasing them both.... and didn't get any of them. I saw the 12 once last year right after legal shooting hours and the big 8 has been on cam before, have never seen the 10 before...

Haven’t seen anything worth shooting

Just go out and have fun, enjoy God's creation. And try to leave the other noise behind.

This right here.
I missed a lot over the years because of working all the time, I love getting in the woods, I don’t have to kill anything but I do have to get out.

That is where we are at. Mature buck movement has been real slow compared to years past.

Maybe late season will be good, currently taking a couple weeks off to chase some other critters

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Both of those posts are where I’m at. I have been hell on the pigs though. 5 down so far

Our place has been incredibly slow since rifle opener. No daytime activity and very few feeder pictures (darn acorns...). Hoping for good late season, but might be a nail biter coming down to the wire. Major takeaway- we have a beautiful state and time with my son and friends is priceless. Wishing everyone a great second half!

More daytime activity of bucks than I can ever remember in the past. Not much worth shooting, but the bucks are out during the day.

Had a good amount of deer activity early in the season, young bucks with potential but have not seen any mature deer yet. Barely any deer coming to feeders because of the acorn crop. Recently I have had less deer activity at my stand, only pigs coming to corn and that is an hour or two after dark. Hoping the acorns begin to rot and deer start coming to corn within the next few weeks.

The big sow I killed last week was coming to feed on acorns that have been falling like mad in an area where I've had a ladder stand all season. Her and her young were almost running as if they were cows coming to feed on range cubes.
