 Threaded Barrell for Colt 1911

Looking at getting a threaded barrel for my Colt 1911 (45 ACP). Any feedback from someone who has done this? (Recommended mfg, or what to look for?)

Don't try to make a "drop in" one work, it isn't meant to on a 1911. Find a competent 1911 gunsmith and that will save you a lot of hassle in the long run. I've fitted some of Nighthawk's threaded barrels because they are available and their customer service has been outstanding. Alex Hamilton in San Antonio is reputable, as is Ed Vandenberg in Houston. Not sure if he's still doing it, but Bobby Bueltel in Cedar Park is another excellent one.

there is a 1911 gunsmith on this forum who can fit a new threaded barrel to your gun. I can't remember their screen name.

1911 academy in McKinney might be an option if you’re up north.
