What handgun do you reach for when you want to poke holes in targets or roll those little indestructible orange balls? I didn’t think I had a favorite till today, when I did some reloading of what ever brass was empty. 400ish 38 Specials, 100 357 Mags, and hardly any 9mm or 380. So, the answer for me seems to be 38 rounds in the S&W 686. Of course it might have something to do with not having to search for brass when I shoot the revolver. The ground has gotten further away as I’ve aged.
The beloved Python is now a safe queen, but I’m doing just fine with the 686.
What about you?

Probably my Smith M14, but the M17 is a close second.

My go to standard for anything other than EDC would be my Blackhawk in .357.

Hard to choose but Beretta Model 70, Ruger 22/45, and S&W 4006 would be top picks.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I see "plinking" and I think that means .22 lr. It's a toss up between young and old. The Glock 44 and K-frame are about 75 years apart. I been trying to wear out that K frame for the last 43 years since I got. It belonged to Geno Sabatini, my Italian grand dad who thought he needed a gun. We think he shot 6 rounds through it since that was how many were missing from the box that was with it when I got it. Sat on a closet shelf 30+ years. I still shoot it, a lot. I carry a Glock model 22 (.40 cal). This model 44 in .22 LR is a great trainer and tune up gun. Really light to carry, can have it on my hip all day and not know it. I like having it on my side 100% of my panhandle time. I can have it apart, cleaned, and back together in a few minutes after a dusty day up there.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Ya got me…on the use of “plinking”, but I couldn’t come up with a word that was suitable, other than that one.

Colt Match Target .22 from 1956, Sig P322 .22 and Taurus TX .22 in standard and target model. Very accurate and fun to shoot.

Favorite? My favorites change with the seasons or just a whim. I'm pretty cheap and shallow that way. However, my current favorite is a 20 year old Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8" barrel in 41 mag. Hope to take it hog hunting next year.
"Group think" is not thinking. It is the lack of independent thought. It is a cancer of the mind.

I'm hard pressed to name a single favorite, but I really like my New Frontier in .45 Colt. I also like my old 3-screw flat top in .357. I'm getting to know a 1911 in 10mm these days and if my last outing with it points to results I can expect it will be high on the list even though it was originally intended to be a hog hunting side arm. Maybe once I get myself back "in tune" I'll develop a real preference, but I've got a ways to go.

Anything I own in the .22LR and 9mm flavor, suppressed. Sig P322 seems to be at the top of the list.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Sig P322 seems to be at the top of the list. Agree. A few of those 20 round mags and a red dot makes for a good time. I put a dead air mask in jail this week and I’m looking forward to a conjugal visit real soon

Time spent with our grandkids shooting is the best so I’m in the 22lr camp. Right now it’s a Ruger SR22.

I always seem to pack the Browning Hi Power whenever I think I will have some plinking time. I have several .22s but I just seem to enjoy the 9mm. Lately been using a Browning 1911-380 since I ran into a deal on brass and bullets just before things got crazy.

Plinking is definitely with .22lr.
It was all I could afford when I was young and now it is all I want to spend money on- with ammo prices like they are.
Currently, I mostly shoot ;
Ruger SR22 (newest purchase),
Ruger Standard Mk ll (most accurate) and,
Ruger Super Single Six (first handgun-almost 50 years old-now mostly retired- but so many memories...)
When I do "plink" with centerfire it is Ruger LCP and Ruger SR9 ( yep, both with the l-o-n-g trigger pull-but both quite accurate)

My favorite place to shoot, bar none, is in a landfill. Bottles, cans, aerosol cans, old tvs, refrigerators, and no clean up. What could be better?

When I lived in Reno in the 80’s, there was one right outside of town. It’s long since been bulldozed for condos. For $8.99, I’d shoot up a brick of .22 every week, or until my guns would jam from the crud. I was a pretty decent pistol shot in those days.
