We hunt in Bee County near Papalote on 150 acres low fence. Last week on Friday we saw the bucks moving a lot. I had my son pass on few 8 pointers. My 10 year old son ended up with a 12 pointer with a 13 point that you can hang a ring on. That night around the campfire he told me that he was super happy that I told him to let the 8’s walk. It was a good day and super proud! Now it’s my time to hunt that he got his! Those proud poppa moments are super special, GOOD JOB DAD!!!!!!!! Very proud of him and I just dropped it off to get a shoulder mount done. We also hunt with my father. My dad was joking around with me that he could not believe that I did not take the shot. Glad I coached my son through those first big bucks shakes and he was able to make a clean shot. His dam arms and legs would not stop shaking at first as he kept on saying “Dad that is a big deer”. Had him breathe in and out and focus then took the shot.
