Chesapeake, Virginia Walmart shooting leaves at least 7 people dead, others injured

A shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia Tuesday night left at least seven people dead and others injured, according to the Chesapeake Police Department.

A spokesperson said Chesapeake police responded to an "active shooter" call at the store located along Battlefield Blvd. at approximately 10:12 p.m. When officers arrived, they coordinated with a tactical team to enter the store, where they found multiple bodies, said Chesapeake police spokesman Leo Kosinski.

The shooting happened inside the store, but police confirmed at least one body was found at its entrance, Kosinski said at a briefing.

And remember the new law last year pretty much makes a 30.06 sign worthless. I had Police buddies telling me to ignore them for several years anyway.

I’m guessing by the wording that only applies to a CHL holder and NOT to unlicensed constitutional carry. Since constitutional carry started I find it odd I can carry inside a bank but not Walmart. LOL

Walmart employee in Chesapeake, Virginia kills 6 with pistol, police say

A mass shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia Tuesday night that left six people dead
was carried out by one of the store's employees before he took his own life by turning the gun on himself, the Chesapeake Police Department says.

Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky told reporters Wednesday morning that the male employee used a pistol in the attack, which also left four other people hospitalized.

Their conditions are currently unknown, and following a search by a SWAT team at the individual’s home, police believe there is "no risk to the public at this time," Solesky added.

The employee has not been identified, as police say they have yet to contact his next of kin. Prior to the shooting, officials say he was not familiar to law enforcement.
He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.

I have always been of the opinion that if Im in a situation that I have to pull a weapon out I have full intentions of using it. At that point my concern about breaking any law about not having a weapon in a certain environment....is simply not a concern at all.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 8.

Again, Law Enforcement friends have told me to do the same.

A "criminal trespass" isn't going to land you with felony charges.

Hard to fathom why a person who had been there for 12 years would go Postal as they use to say, I hope he is flame in Hell right now!

Virginia police release timeline of Walmart rampage, trying to determine motive of suspected gunman Andre Bing
Virginia investigators are still trying to determine the motive for the deadly shooting

Authorities have identified the gunman as 31-year-old Andre Bing. Walmart previously told Fox News Digital that Bing was an "overnight team lead and he’s been employed with us since 2010."

Employee Briana Tyler said the overnight stocking team of about 15 or 20 people had just gathered in the break room to go over the morning plan when shots rang out. She said the meeting was about to start, and her team leader said: "All right, guys, we have a light night ahead of us," when her manager turned around and opened fire on the staff.

"He was just shooting all throughout the room," she said. "It didn’t matter who he hit. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t look at anybody in any specific type of way."

A witness also told WAVY that she heard the suspect laughing at one point and that she believes the shooting was planned.
