More than 20 law enforcement recruits have been injured, at least five critically, after a driver plowed into them while out on a morning run in California on Wednesday. The recruits have been rushed to hospitals, and authorities have detained a suspect believed to be the driver of the vehicle, according to Fox 11. The California Highway Patrol says the incident took place at roughly 6:30 a.m. local time. The L.A. County Fire Department says five individuals had critical injuries, four had moderate injuries and another 14 had minor injuries. Story

I hope they castrate the SOB that did this. I hope he gets what he deserves, but at the same time, running in that large a pack on city streets is not smart.

I’d say the idiots running down the road in a large group needs to take some of the fault. The guys a bigger fruit loop but the po po needs to accept their medicine and in this case it was in the form of a bumper. I’d say the idiots running down the road in a large group needs to take some of the fault. The guys a bigger fruit loop but the po po needs to accept their medicine and in this case it was in the form of a bumper. I’m just a dumb redneck but I can guarantee you I’m smart enough to know better than running down the road. Play stupid games and you win stupid prizes. Well hold on, might be just a tad harsh..I will speculate they were running in some type of organized formation no different from the military. Did they have organized road guards in place to alert traffic? Was this act an accident (driver didn't see them) or deliberate?

IMO "so far, it looks like it's an accident, a horrific accident," Villanueva said. Sampson said all possibilities, ranging from an intentional act to impaired driving, will be investigated.

Hope the guys all recover, they never should have been put in that situation though. Way to many crazy bastids out thr these days to open an entire group of cops up to be plowed through.
I don’t blame the runners, the ones who made them run down the road are who I blame.

They will be out on bond and won’t be found for awhile sadly. I’m not going to judge what happened yet. I’ve seen people in diabetic shock or from other medical reasons crash into all kinds of stuff.

I was overly harsh for the men hit, the dumb asses that thought it was a good idea to run down the road need to be beaten with a rubber hose cops or no cops though. I’ve been ran I’ve by a car running down the road and I took my responsibility for my broken bones choosing to jog with cars around and I never ran on the road again. The driver was obviously at fault but if they hadn’t been on the road it wouldn’t have happened. Roads are for cars not jogging, agree or disagree it doesn’t matter to me but I’ve been in that situation and I chose to exercise around 4000 pound projectiles and I ended in the same situation.

So maybe only the police that have been ran over before is at fault. From what you said you thought it was a good idea to run on a road until you got hit by a car. Afterward you changed your thinking. Maybe none of these officers have ever been hit by a car and thought it was a good idea to jog on the road like you did until you got hit. Really it’s the driver at fault.

Running at an Athletic Compex makes a lot more sense than running down a road in a group in the early morning light.
