Perhaps you can explain how you make up for this ; ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/09/full-60667-361325-atmospheric_sound_absorption_coefficient_2.svg.png) Taken from this; https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Engineering_Acoustics/Outdoor_Sound_PropagationI just don't see how those very high frequencies can travel very far.

I am no scientist but we do know that the silent dog whistles are effective to approximately 500 yards in most conditions. I feel the reason that so many coyotes hold up in the 200-300 yard range when using standard e-callers is because they are not hearing the high frequencies that occur in nature. Adios, Gary

I feel the reason that so many coyotes hold up in the 200-300 yard range when using standard e-callers is because they are not hearing the high frequencies that occur in nature. Adios, Gary A very useful observation to point out, indeed. Ten years ago I did some playing around with some 40KHz ultrasonic transducers but for a completely different reason. I was trying to locate faulty power line hardware on power poles. I mounted a transducer at the focal point of a parabolic dish about 1ft in diameter. Built up a buffer amplifier for the transducer so I could connect it to the input of a RFSpace SDRIQ Software Defined Radio. This allowed me to view the spectrum and AM demodulate what the transducer was hearing on a small laptop. Well after playing around with this device it was quite interesting to hear the amount of ultrasonic noise emitted by automobile, ATV and bicycle tires as they move over roadways. This ultrasonic noise drives dogs crazy enough to want to rip a tire off it's rim. As a kid growing up there was one street all us kids would not ride our bikes down. There was this German Shepard that would grab our bicycle tire and shred it. That kind of event you never forget but never understood why at the time. I suspect it's the high frequency sound that allow predators to precisely locate their prey as well especially with their stereoscopic detection. With this device I was also able to hear bugs buried underground. I suspect hogs can hear in this frequency range as well. Sound like a load of fun project. Let's go hunt sometime.

You are so correct on most everything producing ultrasonics. They claim that mice and small rodents scratching under deep snow actually produce ultrasonic sounds that enable foxes and other predators to locate them. If it wasn't for this ability, the fox might not survive in harsh winters. If memory serves me correctly, hogs hear over 40 khz, not sure if they use their noses or hearing more. I guess it depends on what they are hunting. Adios, Gary

Supposed to have approximately 2500 in here about the end of the month. I won't be able to satisfy all the demand but at least it's a start. After nearly 5 years of R&D and 6 patents, I am ready to see a return on investment. Thanks for all your patience! Gary

That's great news Gary! Can't wait to see some of these go out in the field and start getting customer feedback. I'm sure its been a long road and I bet you're happy to finally be at this point in the journey.

Yea, I am about broke!!! All of the money spent on R&D and attorneys with no return is a killer. At one time last year I realized that I had four different attorneys working on four different projects...Yuk! I agree that I want to see them in the field as they are definitely a gamechanger. I have been using them for three years and yet to have a coyote warning bark at me. Adios, Gary

You all had better have a box full of tools for coyotes. No one thing has ever or will ever be the crown jewel.

2 trappers, multiple helicopters, thermal guns, monoculars and a new thermal drone. Found them the first time I took it up. Trappers got one on a gun but then I think they got boogered. Hoping next time I can just pattern them and then find them morning the helo shows up.

Yep coyotes are the smartest thing I have ever tried to hunt. Seems as though if one gets educated they tell the whole world about it through their primitive networking. If it don't sound, smell or taste right then a red flag goes up. I have called and have them go down wind say 100 or more yards of me with their nose up in the air sniffing and their tongue out licking the air. One aspect no one ever talks about is their sense of taste. Same goes for deer or hogs. Long after you have left your stand and your smell has faded they can taste your presence for a long time.

I will have a few in next week and hopefully 2500 before Christmas. It will not be enough to satisfy all the demand but it will help a little. Thanks so much for your patience! Adios, Gary

I’ve been hearing this “next couple weeks” song and dance for way way too long. I was really excited, still am but wish we could just have a definitive timeframe. Like a march 1 guaranteed launch date for sales or something. I feel like the cartoon donkey with the carrot stick hanging out in front of my mouth.
